5.0 out of 5 stars Lovin' this CD!
Even if you only became an Enrique fan after hearing his English stuff and you are not familiar with his earlier albums, you are still going to love his latest cd. Although I am not fluent in spanish I bought this cd after seeing the video for "Para que la Vida" and I was not disappointed. Honestly I thought I was going to get a spanish version of an english album, This is not the case. This album most resembles the last spanish album cosas de la vida. It is full of slooooooow ballads, no pop songs. The only pop song is the spanish version of turn off the lights. If you want this album get the one with the included dvd. That is worth it, not the cd.

Although I am not fluent in spanish I bought this cd after seeing the video for "Para que la Vida" and I was not disappointed. I love the changing tempo of "pienso en ti" and the very 'dance-able' beat of "la chica de ayer". Marta is my favourite on this cd.
The ballads are smooth, the dance songs are pulsing and Enrique's vocals are fabulous, he sounds even better in spanish than in English. This is one of the best albums I've bought this year. If you're an Enrique fan (regardless of your native tongue)BUY IT!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Finally back to Spanish!, October 21, 2002

Finally, after four years (since his 1998 work "Cosas del Amor"), Enrique Iglesias is back with "Quizás", a all-Spanish album, and it was worth the wait. "Quizás" is a great album that has a variety of songs on them; from the ballads that he is known for (Tres Palabras, Para Qué La Vida, Mentiroso, etc.) to more Latin pop based (La Chica de Ayer, Mamacita), "Quizás" has a variety of good songs. Also included in the CD is a song that seems to blend smoothly from a ballad to a Latin pop back to a ballad, "Pienso En Tí", which is a great song. The first single, "Mentiroso" is also offered in a Marachi version, as is "No Apagues La Luz", which is from his 2001 English album, "Escape". Also included in this Bonus Edition is a DVD which gives us a good, but a bit too quick, biography of Enrique, and four music videos (one from each of his first three Spanish albums, and his hit Bailamos). Not bad, considering at most places, the two discs are sold for less than "$" together. Even if Enrique can't keep his English career going, his Spanish one looks bright as ever.

5.0 out of 5 stars A work of Art, October 12, 2002

This review is from: Quizas (Audio CD)
Quizas has got to be Enrique Iglesias' most intimate and personal Spanish speaking Album to date. With almost all the tracks written by this versatile artist it is a mixture of ballads and upbeat tunes this is a must have for fans of his unique musical style.

The title song Quizas (Perhaps) is a touching message from a son to his estranged Father and gives an insight into Enrique's own relationship with his father. He also adds "No Apagues La Luz" (Don't Turn Off The Lights" which is taken from his ESCAPE Album.

This is sure to be the next best selling album following his massive selling English Album ESCAPE, he has gone back to his Latin roots with this album, but still keeps the Pop beats throughout the album.

If you liked Hero and Escape then you'll love Quizas - Enrique's first album in his native Spanish for five years. A perfect blend of uptempo tracks and romantic ballads, the latter which Enrique was born to sing with his urgent and emotional vocals. Every single track pulls you into Enrique's world as he sings right to you from his heart and from his soul, taking you to a warm and beautiful place from where you'll never want to return!

Quizas is a wonderful return for Enrique Iglesias to his native language, full of emotion. The realisation that something could be lost forever is beautifully expressed in the title track. However there is no mistaking his search for true love & true love that is lost in the first two tracks, Tres Palabras & Para Que La Vida. Then there is pain, Mentiroso!!!! Still he has time for fun with Sueltame Las Riendas. For me this is the one & only, the best Spanish album from Enrique Iglesias

where can i start, this cd is awsome. as an enrique fan from his first album to this one, i got to say enrique is simply incredible. his ability to write and produce his albums is great. on this album he goes back to his spanish roots, with killer lyrics that could make you fall in love in an instant. with his groovy voice he introduces you in a world of romance and love like you've never imagined. i recommend it to anyone who love enrique of course and very powerfull ballads that can touch your heart. as for this version(the limited edition dvd set) is totally a treat, it's packed with extras for a great price. it features FOUR VIDEOS(including the hit BAILAMOS), A SHORT HISTOY OF ENRIQUE AND HIS TRAJECTORY AS AN ARTIST(it's in spanish, but it has a lot of subtitles options in many languages)AND A PHOTO GALLERY. the dvd itself is worth the fifteen dollars. great buy. you won't regret it.

Quizas is an excellent album much like the ones Enrique has put out before. There are many other singers who have better voices yet I find his singing and its emotional impact much more satisfying.

I cannot speak a word of Spanish yet I am stirred when I listen to his songs. Not many singers, English or Spanish have that effect. Take the chance to decide for yourself. You will find the experience worthwhile. Enjoy....

5.0 out of 5 stars A must-have for all the fans of good music, September 18, 2002
By A Customer
This review is from: Quizas (Bonus DVD) (Audio CD)
After the success obtained with his two English albums, Enrique Iglesias returns to his Latin roots, and he does it in a quite impressive way. With love once again as the leading motive of the CD, the songs cover however a wider range of themes from the more common (although masterfully raised) heartbreak theme of "Para qué la vida" to the more complex track "Quizás"(title track of the album), where the artist addresses to his father, the also singer Julio Iglesias, speculating about the reasons why they have drifted apart and wondering about what the future may bring them.
Along with the diversity of the themes, the singer also reaches out for new musical styles, from pure pop as in "La chica de ayer", to the more classic Latin sound of the bolero-like "Mentiroso", of which the album also features a Mariachi version.
But while such changes in the music are easily perceptible, the charming softness of his voice remains unchanged, thus making this album a great purchase for both Spanish and non-Spanish speakers.
"Quizás" is therefore a must-have not only for Enrique Iglesias's fans, but for all the fans of good music.
