5.0 out of 5 stars A treasure for defenders of liberty and limited government., March 15, 1999
By A Customer
I strongly recommend THE QUOTABLE CONSERVATIVE for several reasons. First, it contains more quotations on the importance of personal liberty and responsibility than any other current book. Second, the quotations are often large excerpts of well-developed arguments and analysis. In fact, the book is a treasure of facts and arguments valuable for defending limited government. Third, it contains an extremely wide range of authors, both past and present. The reader can profit from not only Thomas Jefferson and Ayn Rand, but also Rush Limbaugh and G. Gordon Liddy, as well as 200 other insightful authors. Fourth, the book contains an extremely valuable preface tracing the historical and philosophical background of conservatism. Fifth, it contains a 14-page index, in which the reader can instantly find sources of useful facts and arguments on any topic related to political and economic freedom and personal responsibility. This book should delight both conservatives and libertarians. It is also highly affordable, especially for a major reference work. It is a great gift book for conservatives and libertarins. It should also be useful to disturb your "liberal" friends.

5.0 out of 5 stars One of my most used books, June 18, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: The Quotable Conservative: The Giants of Conservatism on Liberty, Freedom, Individual Responsibility and Traditional Virtues (Hardcover)
I've had this book for a couple of years and find myself going back to it freqently. It includes great treasures of wit, wisdom, and inspiration. Too often today we forget the thoughtfulness of our forefathers. Too bad tlv106@aol.com from Tampa, Florida thinks this wisdom is "corporate America propaganda."

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent Wisdom, December 5, 2005
By
This review is from: The Quotable Conservative: The Giants of Conservatism on Liberty, Freedom, Individual Responsibility and Traditional Virtues (Hardcover)
This is one of those books that inspires, enlightens and provides a detailed insight into the wisdom of those who founded and have guided this nation to greatness. Would make a great book for the Leftocrats to learn what the principles and wisdom America was founded upon. I only gave it a 5 star rating because that is the max you can give. This book surpasses all books of comparable nature.
