The FAOTD Version has ZERO permissions! I just downloaded the app & checked. Notta a one! That makes this app an instant keeper for me!

Sure you can get this app for free on Google Play but, you'll need to pay for the extra puzzles. Today, for the FAOTD, Amazon gives us ALL of the extra puzzles! 84 in all, for FREE! Otherwise, those of you who are questioning as to why this app requested permission to open network sockets & access to other networks? It would have been needed to purchase & download those extra puzzles if you had chosen to do so. The fact there is no longer a need for in-app purchasing with today's version, means the permissions are no longer needed & were all removed. I'd say this is a pretty awesome deal! Thanks Amazon & Tiny Bite Games =)

Oh yeah...and the game is a whole lot of fun, too! Very addictive! If you're into crossword and other word games then, you'll love this one! Taking up only a little over 6mb's, you have nothing to lose by giving it a try!

This app is one of the more unique games I've seen in a while. You are given a number of crossword-style clues but instead of merely typing in the answers, you have to locate them within a famous quotation.

There are a number of errors in the description for this app. It's not free, but you also get a lot more than just 24 puzzles (it currently offers 84). New puzzles appear to be free, as there is no mention of in-app purchasing and the "Funny Stuff" puzzle pack that is shown as $0.99 in the product images is included free with this app. Best of all, however, is that despite a massive list of permissions shown on the website, when you install the app no permissions are required at all!

There is no time limit in the game, so relax, no need to rush. If you can't figure out a clue, skip it and move on; you can come back after you've eliminated some of the letters from the quote.

This game is loads of fun and definitely worth the 99 cents.

For those of you concerned with the permissions you needn't worry. When you download this app it doesn't come with any of the permissions listed, in fact none at all. Also, in regards to being a free app in Play store, don't listen to people who don't check. The version in Play only comes with 24 levels, you must pay to play more. This FAOTD comes with over 80! So rest assured about these two things and have fun!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Addictive! August 3, 2013

I was never much of a game player . .until I got my Kindle. Now I've tried several word games but this is my favorite by far. Starts with a quote, then using parts of the quote, you build words you are given clues for. Get stuck? You can request a hint, but try not to. The games are just challenging enough to keep you interested, but not so hard that you get frustrated. Well worth the 99¢.

FIrst of all, this game is clean as a whistle. No special access required, no ads, no analytics, no IAPs, etc. There are buttons to visit their website & social media pages, but they're hidden under 'About' in the Main Menu, and use only your browser to access them. No Internet permission is requested for the game itself. That's wonderful!

This is a word game in which you have to find the words from the clues given, a la crossword puzzle style but without the rows & columns. As an additional hint, the letters that make up each word can be found in the quote at the bottom of the screen. All the words, or rather their letters, in a puzzle will together form that quote. There are no time limits, and you get unlimited hints, so it shouldn't be frustrating to play at all. Please note, however, that you would still have to manually pick the letters from the quote even when the hints have been shown; otherwise it won't be regarded as "answered".

The puzzles are grouped into various (quote) categories, and currently there are 15 categories each containing 30 puzzles which makes 450 puzzles in all, with more "coming soon..." according to the developer. So, for a dollar, and for such a safe & entertaining game, it is certainly worthy of 5 stars.

[ADDED] This game does exit cleanly with the Back button. You can easily check for yourself by going into Settings -> Apps and look at the list. You will see it's a CACHED process meaning it's left in memory so that if you want to play again, the system won't need to reload it from storage into memory & waste time. If another app needs the memory space, the system will simply give that memory space to it.

When it comes to Permissions and Code, can't get any more squeaky clean than this game. Zero Permissions, and the Code doesn't have any analytics or such. Fully installs at less than 10MB, and even that bit is movable into Storage. Exits cleanly with back-key. Pretty much the perfect "under-the-hood" setup.

No IAP to be concerned about - in fact, my hints continuously showed up as Unlimited regardless of the bonus rounds that supposedly add to the number of hints. It is only the quotes themselves that reflect the categories, the puzzle clues widely ranging in cross-word fashion, including Brand Name recognition (I had a derp moment when I finally realized the game was looking for "Hanes" as the answer).

Lots of puzzles for the enjoyment although I would like to know when version 2.5.1 was released with the last three puzzle packs. Let's just say I am a little hesitant over the fact this has been out for three years and there is still a large chunk of grayed-out "Coming Soon" categories. Still, as is, certainly a puzzle bang for your buck... and a worry-free bang too.
