I stand corrected..., January 27, 2000

In a review of this CD I made a few days or so ago, I made a boo-boo when I said the "hidden mix" is not included on the CD. In fact, it is on here. So, there is a fifth, unlisted track.

It's a small, nifty novelty piece any RDJ fan can't go witho, January 20, 2000

...can't go without. Sigh, stupid title-length limits.
Anyhoo, I was surprised when I finally saw this single by Polygon Window--aka Richard D James of the Aphex Twin--in Amazon's stock and put it on order right away.
This is the only single RDJ has put out as Polygon Window. Suffice to say, while Quoth isn't exactly one of my favorite songs (though it is one of Richard's more intruiguing, playful but serious excursions with percussive rhythms), this is worth buying for any fan of RDJ's music.
While the two remixes of Quoth (there is a third, "hidden track" remix of Quoth, I believe, on the vinyl version which has yet to be re-printed) are okay, it's the other two songs--Iketa and Bike Pump Meets Bucket--that are pure fun. Iketa is good, clean, truthful pseudo-ambient house music, and Bike Pump Meets Bucket is a nice dance-friendly track complete with thick drums and catchy melodies.
The only complaint I have is that the Quoth "Hidden Mix" is not included on here, but that's quite trivial it's not worth demoting a star for. Not overpriced for it's embarassingly short length (23:51), yet with 4 great tracks from his Polygon Window side-project, it's worth adding to any electronic music fan's collection--hardcore Richard D James fan or not.
