Product Description

Amazon.com

One of Rösle's superb kitchen utensils, this 11.8-inch ladle has an all-around pouring rim to prevent drips. The head is 3.14 inches in diameter and holds 3.7 ounces. Like all Rösle utensils, tools, and Open Kitchen storage components, the ladle is made of 18/10 stainless steel for rustproof beauty and long-lasting durability. The ladle is hygienically seamless, with a mirror-finish head and a satin-finish handle that conceals finger marks. A subtle center groove and rounded edges ensure a secure, comfortable grip. A hook on the end allows the ladle to be conveniently stored on a Rösle basic rail or Gridwall in the Open Kitchen organizing system. All Rösle products are dishwasher-safe, and carry a lifetime warranty against defects. --Fred Brack

Well, mine has a sticker on it that clearly reads "Made In Germany" so if that is a big sticking point for you, rest assured. Besides that, who goes online to write a review about a ladle?! Well, this is a beautiful item. I was wary because it is expensive and I don't like to spend a lot if I can get the same quality for less money... But I was tired of my "cheap" ladles that dripped all over the side of the cup when ladling out hot chocolate. This ladle really does have a pouring rim that eliminates that mess. Sometimes it pays to pay more for a better product!

Rosle has a reputation for top quality, but until I stumbled on a 4-for-3 Amazon deal I didn't give myself permission to test that reputation. I'm glad I bought this, however. The construction is beyond "sturdy;" I think I could hammer nails with this thing. There's no seams, so there's no way that this ladle can fall apart. I'm sure I'll have it for 30 years.

Also, it looks good (in a functional way -- I'm not saying I'd be tempted to use it as a formal serving spoon). The pouring rim *does* make it easier to use, and I the hook keeps the ladle from going kerPLUNK into the stock pot.

I recently purchaed a Rosle ladle. I am very pleased with it and I admire the craftsmanship that was put into this ladle. It is a superior quality product. The stainless steel is among the best. I certainly recommend this product to anyone. If you want the best go with Rosle. Its also dishwasher safe. Tony Casacli

My initial interest in this ladle was because it was recommended by America's Test Kitchen. I thought the steep price was justified because the product description on here says all Rosle products are made in Germany. Well when it arrived, I found a tiny sticker that says 'made in China'. I felt I was cheated.

Update on 11/7/2010:
I see the product description on here no longer says all Rosle products are made in Germany. And I want to make it clear that on the back of the handle it is engraved with 'Germany 18/10'. However, there was a STICKER that says 'made in China'.

We make soups with very large bones in all shapes including long chicken bones . This ladle has been able to pick up every thing. I bought two 2 ladles and both had labels that said they were made in Germany if that's your thing.

Very simple review. Sturdy, attractive, perfect handle length, holds a good amount, pours easily, scoops easily, won't fall in pot. The perfect ladle.

Hooks on perfectly to any stock pot or soup pot and cleans up easily. My only gripe is it's a solid piece of steel so heat transfers to the handle. The solution is simple, don't place the ladle in until the dish is at a reasonable temperature but some kind of insulation for the handle would have made it perfect.

This ladle is both beautiful and highly functional. The polished metal finish looks great, while the hooked end, angled handle, and rim all add up to perfection in the kitchen.
