Like I often do, I was muddling thru my thousands of compilations, indexing them by song, grading them, etc. when I came upon this collection I'd bought on the cheap some years ago and never paid much attention. I bought it because it contained the Turbans "When You Dance" and Maurice Williams & the Zodiacs "Stay", two classics. I figured if I was lucky enough to get somemore near that level, I'd have a bargain. Wow! I thought every song on the collection was dynamite, even the weakest cut, the Pelicans doing a doo wop version of "White Cliffs of Dover". The lead vocals and harmonies are impeccible thruoughout and the latin rhythms engaging. Even without that many "hits", this is surely one of the best collections of doowop I own and that's putting it up against the likes of Rhino's Doo Wop boxes and some other stellar collections. A great collection!
