Norton Buffalo, a fine Bay Area harmonica player long affiliated with rocker Steve Miller, and occasional partner Rogers dispense winsome acoustic music, mostly original, that often has a pronounced blues slant. Every time Rogers's vocals begin to wear out their welcome, his lightly textured guitar or Buffalo's variegated harp sets things right. Roy Rogers is the best slide guitar player you will ever hear, and Norton Buffalo gives the harmonica more dimension than the entire string section of a symphony orchestra. These are two masterful musicians at the top of their form. R&B comprehensively covers both their energetic improvisation and unique brand of song writing.

I love Norton Buffalo after hearing a few cuts of his work on WWOZ out of New Orleans played on the day of his unfortunate passing. He did a few cds with Roy Rogers, no Trigger or Dale Evans, and this is one great listen. Norton's solo cd is even better than this one. I tried to find this particular one in the Berkeley/Oakland area and could not. If you love great harmonica playing this is a must purchase. Enjoy!
