Awesome tabs great for acoustic, awesome songs and perfectly transcribed. Really good for intermediate guitarist awesome songs even if you dont epecifically like OAR great songs for a campfire. Good learning book has easy tabs and room to grow to tough tabs. Good buy, good buy.

This review is from: O.A.R. (From the Basement Volume 1) (Play It Like It Is Guitar) (Paperback)
When I first heared OAR it propelled me to play guitar. There was something simple, raw and effective about the simplicity that grasped me, so when I saw this book come out I was all over it. I rbought it to my guitar teacher and he said "this is freakin' awesome!" he then showed me the reasons he felt so: they were simple enough to learn but really stressed the importance of timing and finger placement. And being that I was studying actual songs instead of excersized out of a text book or something of the sort, it kept it interesting. I owe alot of my knowledge and ability to play smoothly on this book. Great for basic building blocks, helping me iron out any bad habits, making my playing smoother and it was dam fun to play. If you are an OAR fan I recomend this book for reasons obvious: you learn to play OAR songs...duh. If you are a beginner and need to learn a little technique or get to know your fret board a little better this also for you. Great to play alone, to play along with a CD or with friends. The songs are writen very accuratly writen which makes me feel better knowing that what I am learning was writen by some one who knows what they are doing. I will always buy "play i tlike it is" books because I have yet to find an incorrect note (which I have seen in other "proffesionally" transcribed tabs.) This sure beats looking online at a tab site and seeing 14 versions of the same song, each played differently and writen by anyone and everyone, regardless of skill level. This is just a better option. I recommend this book HIGHLY. Enjoy

Great Book,
This review is from: O.A.R. (From the Basement Volume 1) (Play It Like It Is Guitar) (Paperback)
Great collection of O.A.R. songs to learn. I also thought i'd add that in the description it says, "songs from the Ohio Natives." Though they went to Ohio State, 4/5 of the members are from Maryland. Not many good things come from my state, all there is is O.A.R. and old bay seasoning, which most people don't even know and are missing out. But I digress, O.A.R., from MARYLAND! Oh and buy this book.
