R/C Flying Superman - Up, up and away....,
This review is from: R/C Flying Superman Figure (Toy)
I am an avid R/C enthusiast - I couldn't wait to try this toy and see if it really flew! So here is the scoop....
1) There should be almost NO wind present if you want any chance of a successful flight - resist the temptation to fly in gusty or strong winds. 2) The right and left controls are VERY sensistive - a turn requires about one second of control input - any more than that and the turn will become a massive SPIRAL - it looks cool - but you may only get one chance to see it! 3) Fly in a LARGE open area.. Bottom line - very cool toy - It does fly, in fact it looks very cool in flight. It is very quick for a plane like this. If you have low wind, go easy on the controls and have a big area to fly it in you should have a blast - if not, choose something else so your not disappointed.

Superman Flies!,

First, let me say, this is the first RC plane of any type that I have ever flown. After thouroghly reading the instructions last night, this afternoon I took Supes on his maiden voyage. I did have some crashes, but after about 10 - 20 minutes of trial and error, I started getting some decent flights. I admit I was skeptical at first, but this thing actualy does fly! It does have a tendency to veer to the right, but once I got the hang of it I was able to fairly easily compensate for it by steering in the other direction (I have not tried using the included weights to balance it yet). Keys to a successful flight: 1) needs a LARGE open area: for example, we used a soccer field 2)wind must be relatively calm 3)follow the instructions for proper release/launch. When you're flying you'll probably want to keep it over a soft grassy area, Supes earned a few battle scars landing in the road (nothing major though). I must say, my son and I had a blast watching him fly!
Note: It may be a little too difficult for younger kids to fly themselves.

This toy is very fun. It takes about an hour to learn to fly it and to properly weight the wings. You definitely need a litle wind to keep it in the air. Do not be discouraged by the crashes in the beginning. Make sure you fly it in a big open field - it is a pain to get it out of a tree. Be patient and have fun. This toy is great for all comic fans and for r/c beginners who want an inexpesive and duarble r/c plane.

This toy is not for children,
This review is from: R/C Flying Superman Figure (Toy)
We bought this for our son's birthday and it was his big present. He's a superhero nut and had been begging for this since he first saw it. After we had it put together and charged it up we went to walk outside. He dropped it a distance of about 2 and 1/2 feet and the it broke OFF at the knees!!! Much crying insued. After a quick trip to get glue we tried to fly the darn thing. It never flew. This should be more correctly termed a glider at best and definately not for children under say 14 or so.
We were able to return it thank goodness. I must say this is just another in the long line of large Mattel products we have bought that are not put together well and do NOT stand the test of play. Such as the The Batman Batcave (falls apart), The JLA watchtower(won't stand up), the mini Batcave (falls apart) etc. etc. I think we have learned our lesson.

Very disappointing!,

Looks great, but NOT worth the money. My son begged for this toy - and it was a big dud. Almost impossible to fly - I think once out of 50 tries were we successful. Made out of flimsy material, it chipped and scraped right away.
Do NOT buy this toy!!!!!!

**If you have NO R/C flight knowledge dont NOT get this get an AirHogs Areo Ace! You will love it and you cant hurt them.
Ok this item is a 2ch diffrental thrust r/c plane er.. superman. It will fly, and pretty fast too! Its basicly a delta with two pusher motors, and a Sanyo 120mah Nimh pack, it gets about 5 mins of flight time, the control range is great for a product like this 27mhz not sure of the CH #. It flys fast and range cut out at about 200' Alot of potential for upgrades to real hobby gear.

I found the item to be well made and easy to use. It was a clever idea and my grandson enjoyed it a lot. Using Amazon was also a plus, no crowds to contend with.

GOOD PART: This thing will fly high, soar on currents, and is a lot of fun once you get the hang of it. I would recommend it to someone with at least SOME experience! The controls are touchy and it will spiral to the ground if you hold too long. It's pretty tough and will take some hard hits without damage. BAD PART : I only got eight good charges out of eight AA batteries and am experimenting with charging from a 12V mower battery. Rechargeable AA's ("Pure Energy") are available from a Canadian company. A great plane for kids is the little bi-plane from "Air Hog". It's practically bulletproof, easy to fly, and doesn't eat up batteries.

I'm into rc planes, so I couldn't resist the idea of a flying superman. Clever, the cape is delta wing with two electric motors for differential control. It's durable, it hit the ground a few times. Once I got it balanced out (needed two plastic disks at the back of the cape)so it wouldn't nose in with a full charge it can fly. Light or no winds, and a large soccer field is required for maximum fun. Sometimes the motors would cutout just before a hand launch, but with a light toss it can gain altitude (full throttle). Only disappointment is the requirement for 8 AA batteries for the transmitter. Should have been nicads (4) and a cigarette plug in charger like the Parkzone products from Horizon Hobby.

R/C Flying Superman, Really flies.,

Is a very funny toy, really it flies, but you need to get some practice and patience to fly it. Needs a little wind a more wind make your superman crash, needs too a very large open area, is for children over 10-12 years age or for adults with a lot of patience, be careful, if it drops and crash (2-5 times) very probably gets broke.
