1.0 out of 5 stars Hard to assemble; impossible to fly, January 7, 2007
This review is from: R/C Parachute Power Glider (Toy)
We were rushed this Christmas, otherwise I might not have allowed my son to put this on his wish list. We know from experience that any flying rc toy is going to be either difficult to operate or too fragile to last beyond one or two hard landings.

This glider looks cool. We thought it might be a great alternative to the faster rc planes that require a lot more skill to fly. It looks like the chute should help it sort of waft through the air at a controlable beginner's speed. But in reality I think this toy is a better wall ornament than flying machine.

The glider and parachute are very difficult to assemble, requiring two pairs of hands for the final wing assembly.

Once you get it together, it's hard to impossible to launch. In fact, we have tried on two separate days on good weather conditions and have had no luck launching this sucker. It's very surprisingly HEAVY and I'm not really sure the chute could ever really carry the heavy prop and wheel assembly.

Finally, there are warnings to keep your fingers away from the prop, and those are good warnings to heed. But sometimes it's hard to find any better place to grab the thing. We got quite a few good gashes on our fingers when the motor would start when no one was touching the rc controls.

We'll try one more time to launch this thing, but I think it's a lost cause and definitely a huge disappointment.

1.0 out of 5 stars The strings will get caught into the fan, July 29, 2009
= Durability:1.0 out of 5 stars  = Fun:1.0 out of 5 stars  = Educational:1.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: R/C Parachute Power Glider (Toy)
When you run it, the strings will get caught in the fan and that's the end of this glider. They should re-design the glider.
