Great Series and Great Package,

This review is from: R.O.D. the TV Series: Complete Book (DVD)
I purchased this complete series and find it to be very enjoyable. It is difficult to find this set and I was able to find it here. Factory package was well designed, much better than many of the multi-disc sets I have seen for other sets. Quality & operation of all the DVD's is good. I am glad I purchased from this seller.

A Nice Anime But For The Storyline And Dubbing A Little Sad,

I had already gotten the OVA version of this anime series and after finding a decent seller decided to complete my collection with this box set, and while the price is pretty decent after the end I was a little letdown on how they did the series itself. The story mostly evolves around three sisters(Not by blood)paper-masters(People with the ability to use paper from any book or product and use it it as either offensive or defensive ways) who after a job are hired to protect a renown Japanese female author who two of the sisters both who are avid readers(More like obsessed) greatly admire while the youngest who has no desire to read or deal with books at all but is herself a very accomplished hand-to-hand fighter even without using her abilities. The author herself is also looking for a close longtime friend who was also a paper-master in a attempt to find some closure with her. The series is pretty entertaining and seeing the scenes when the sisters use their paper-master abilities is also neat but except for some small parts are some entertaining episodes the series story just doesn't really keep you glued to your seat to find out what happens. Also the one and probably biggest complaint I have is the dubbing, yes I do like to listen to most of my animes dubbed and for that you need at least a decent voice cast for the series and sadly with the exception of about three or four actors/actresses the cast were irritating to down right atrocious. The animation and music soundtracks for the series are very good though and the Japanese voice cast more than make up for the dismal performance from most of the dub English cast, The extras are slim but o.k. for the most part just some commentaries and trailers. If Funimation re-releases this series again it's worth a good look but since they won't do re-dubbing which is unfortunate I'd advise just keeping the audio track with the subbed cast to hear throughout the series...
