This review is from: RAILS THROUGH THE WIREGRASS: A HISTORY OF THE GEORGIA & FLORIDA RAILROAD (Hardcover)
The Southern pine tree railroads are a pretty much unexplored region. This isn't great literature or anything but it will give you a view into the late 19th and early 20th century railroad built to exploit the Southern longleaf pine and Southern agriculture.
