This is an extremely sturdy mount for those who ride over the road, but don't need rain-protection for their GPS. The construction is heavy-duty, and locks my GPS in firmly. Not an intricate mechanism, it bolts solidly to the bike and then is almost infinitely adjustable with one large wing-nut you can use with gloves on... Superb, but then it's a RAM so that is expected!

I purchased this ram mount assembly so I could use my Garmin when needed. I figured I would have to make some modifications to make it fit my bike (Suzuki V-Strom) and then buy extra parts if I wanted to put it on my Kawasaki Vulcan with the bigger bars. Well I was quite pleased that in about 10 minutes it was on the bike and adjusted right where I wanted it. No bad screw fits, no reaming out holes to make things fit...and the kit comes with the necessary parts to fit the bigger bars too. I put about 100 miles on to test it, and the Garmin is as stable as a lighthouse with this rig. Before purchase I called the company that sells it for a basic question on fitment, and they were very helpful. I would recommend this product to anyone who wants a secure mount with great adjustability.

Bolted it up to My Harley's handlebars and everything fit fine. It comes with a U-bolt to fit 7/8" inch bars commonly found on other bikes as well as the 1" U-bolt for the Harleys.
If I had it to do over, I would have bought the waterproof model instead of this one, but it was more expensive and don't generally ride in the rain anyhow. It's mostly made of metal and made in the USA, I believe, which is a plus. Time will tell how well it holds up on the road, but I have a good feeling about this mount.
