I just bought my first iPod to use while biking but didn't like the hassle of having to try and get it out of my pocket while riding so I did a lot of searching and came across this mounting system, and boy am I glad. With the adjustable arm, it will mount virtually anywhere on your handlebars or center bar and not be in the way of other stuff. I can now change songs, adjust volume, etc. without digging in my pocket and hoping I don't drop my iPod.

I bought this with the intent of using this on my road bike versus using the arm band setup. This thing came in the mail and it weights at least a pound. This is probably a good getup if you didnt have a lightweight racing road bike. So I am returning this back to Amazon for a refund.

I received this today, and right off the bat, I was confused. First of all, there was no instructions, parts list, etc. I didn't understand why there were 2 U-bolts, the iPod holder that attaches to the arm, and only 2 nuts. I went to the manufacturer's website to look at the instructions/parts list. It turns out that the U-bolts are for attaching the arm to your handle bars...they are different sizes for thinner or thicker handle bars. But, the instructions only told of the arm, nothing about the holder that attaches to it. So, make sure you have some of your own screws and nuts handy, because you will need them.Next, and this is my fault, but I assumed that this bracket was also for the iPod Touch...wrong. I mean it will work, but...if you put the iPod Touch in without it's case, it will flop around in the holder, because it's so thin. And, if you put it in the holder with its case on, it is very tight, causing the plastic of the holder to spread a little. So, if you have a Touch model, look for a different unit. |
