5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent for bicycle
I bought this to mount my Garmin GPSmap 478 on a bicycle, Sun EZ-1. It works great. It securely holds the GPS and adjusts easily to any angle. The kit came with two U-bolt sizes and a plastic insert. Simple to install and works great.

3.0 out of 5 stars Could hold the unit better
My beef is with the cradle, not the mount. I used this with a 276c until it let my GPS go flying into the street. This is inexcusable. Luckily, the 276c worked fine after gluing the plastic case back together (it is one tough GPS). My bicycle has cushy 26" tires and I was on pavement, not off road. On my motorcycle I use a (very expensive) Touratech mount which would...

Luckily, the 276c worked fine after gluing the plastic case back together (it is one tough GPS). My bicycle has cushy 26" tires and I was on pavement, not off road. On my motorcycle I use a (very expensive) Touratech mount which would never allow the unit to pop out. It isn't fair to compare that mount to this much cheaper RAM, but still, I would have expected the cradle to have a longer tab that engages the unit under the antenna.

If you can find a different aftermarket cradle, the actual RAM arm and mount is fine. The ball mount quality if far, far beyond the cradle. That is why I give it three stars. Why they mate the excellent RAM arm to such a poor cradle is a mystery.

Love this GPS mount for motorcycle. I have a water resistant Garmin 276C loaded with topographical maps for a multi-state off road adventure ride. This mount was quick and easy to install on the handlebars, held tough through bouncing, jumping, and creek crossings. Very adjustable for position and did not take up much space on the handle bars (space is a premium). The price was great and easily trumped any other option. Great product!
