I accidently got both this mounting system and the Garmin cradle (p/n 10-10495-00) made for the Garmin 2720, not realizing that I would get two different cradles. This gave me an opportunity to try both cradles on my BMW motorcycle. I like the Garmin cradle a lot better for four reasons: (1) Thanks to the Garmin cradle's security screw, the GPS cannot be removed by the casual walk-by thief; (2) The RAM cradle is quite noticeable, but the Garmin cradle is out of the way; (3) The RAM mount clips around the GPS and will mar the finish over time, but the Garmin cradle attaches to the back to the manufacturer's mounting points; (4) the Garmin dust cover fits on the GPS while mounted on the Garmin cradle, but the RAM cradle prevents it. To mount the Garmin cradle on a motorcycle handlebar, I recommend the RAM mount that attaches to the Garmin cradle available from GPS City (SKU RAMB149-347).

Great system. Have used RAM Mounts before. RAM knows what is needed.
Garmin's motorcycle mounting kit provided me with wire and a mounting system I could not use without buying additional components. RAM provides a system that works.

I installed this mount quickly and easily and it works great. Holds my streetpilot 2820 nice and firm. The unit connects and disconnects from the mount in seconds to take with me when I leave the bike unattended.
Don't buy the garmin motorcycle mount if you buy this, all you need is the garmin power/audio cable. I bought the garmin unit first and then realized I still needed another piece and bought this.

The ram mount does not work well on a sport touring bike. i presume it would work better on a off road bike where the bars have open areas. on a sport touring there is not much room to place it. Even when placed it puts it outside the windscreen in the open unprotected areas. The clip is not confidence building to keep the Garmin secure, and has no locking mechanism only plastic spring tension. I took it off the bike and will fabricate something else.

Ordered this product for my motorcycle for handlebar mount on V-Star 950, like it was made for my GPS and my bike! Love It!

The RAM adapter worked fine, the problem was getting it from Amazon. After waiting weeks for this product, sent the wrong RAM.I sent it back and had to reorder it.Amazon sent me the new order and it was still the wrong RAM Instead of sending me the correct RAM, they reimbursed my credit card and sent me the name of an other distributor. The other distributor sent in less than a week.

Good quality hardware, but what was shipped to me was not the item described and shown. No trouble returning for a refund, but I am not sure about ordering this item from Amazon again.

Mount works great for the Garmin GPS. Clamp has a spring on one side, that makes it easier than the earlier RAM clamp I purchased several years ago.

The cradle cracked in half when I installed it for the first time. The rest of the kit seemed like it was very durable, so I may go with the universal RAM mount with the Garmin cradle, but this kit was not the one stop shop I had hoped it would be.

This mount is affordable, and excellent. It is adjustable on the fly to many angles and the unit is quickly removed from the bracket, which holds it solidly while riding. It is strong enough for me to hang my helmet on the unit if I want to run into a store quickly (thus also hiding the GPS from view pretty well). The one drawback to this mount is that the bar mounting portion is roughly an inch wide, so you will need that much space available on your bar (one of my bikes does not have that), or you may have to get creative and/or possibly sand down the sides of the plastic portion of the mount to sneak it into a narrower spot. Overall, a great product, seems very rugged.
