This review is from: RAP-274-1-GA25U: RAM EZ-ON/OFF Handlebar Mount for Garmin 200W, 205W, 250W, 255W, 260W (Electronics)
This is a simple mount that is designed to fit the Nuvi 2xxW series perfectly. The hard plastic shell fits around the GPS unit and has gaps in the right places to allow connections to be made (e.g. USB cable, SD card). There is a mechanism protruding out the back that is designed to fit with the standard RAM interface, and in this case it's the handlebar mount. You push the GPS+shell assembly into the handlebar clamp and twist it to lock it in place. I tested it on my mountain bike last weekend and it worked fine (although I wasn't going nuts with offroading or jumps or anything).

Note that this design does NOT have a "stalk" between the GPS shell and the handlebar clamp. This makes it very rigid (didn't budge once during my ride) BUT it also means you have limited position adjustability. You can rotate the GPS unit CW and CCW (like a steering wheel), and can rotate it around the handlebar, but you can't rotate it in the third axis. Still, it's good enough for me.

An adhesive pad and an assortment of screws are included in the package so you can get the perfect fit.

A nice bonus is that with the shell on the GPS unit, when you have the assembly AWAY from the bike (off the handlebar) the mechanism protruding out the back acts as a stand, so you can lay it on a horizontal surface and it'll be propped up.

A bargain at $10 or whatever it costs!

5.0 out of 5 stars Well engineered product, July 15, 2009

I just installed a Ram EZ on EZ Off Mount on my recumbent bicycle and went for a short ride. It seems very well made. I am very confident if I hit some nasty pothole I won't lose my Garmin Nuvi 260W. It grips the GPS better than the Garmin auto dashboard mount it came with and it has cut outs for the speaker and the power cord. You can leave it in its "crade" when you remove it from the bike and charge it. It has a wide range of adjustment so you can get it in the right position for viewing but think out the angle you want before you tighten up the straps that hold it to the handle bars. If you get it wrong you might have to cut the straps and get some new nylon ties to reposition it. I'm very happy with it.

It does exactly what its suppose to. I like how it disconnects so most of the holder can be removed.

This mount looks sturdy and easy to use. I'm waiting for biking season to really see how it works.
