5.0 out of 5 stars Great shift knob
I LOVE this shift knob. I was a little scared about how it would perform based on the way it's shaped, but once I got it installed and started using it, it felt like an extension of my hand. Nice leather feel and the weight makes a huge difference in a very subtle way.

3.0 out of 5 stars Great while it lasted
This was great while it lasted. However, after a couple months of use it became loose and no matter how I try to repair it, it stays loose. First it was loose laterally. Now it rotates 30 degrees without resistance. The problem is the plastic adapter on the inside. Also, to note, the amazon picture is not very accurate. This is a black shift knob with red stitching.

4.0 out of 5 stars Razo RA68A, September 5, 2010

The RA68A was my first replacement shift knob. I installed it on my 2000 Subaru Legacy GT sedan (manual, of course) without much issue under 10 minutes. The kit came with all the pieces for installation. You'll need a screw driver for installaion. The plastic self-tapping adapter pieces allow installation on cars with various shaft diameters. Razo also provides an additional plastic insert piece which allows the height of the shift knob to be exteneded.

Overall, the construction of the RA68A is flawless. Seam allowance is quite small. The leather quality of this shift knob can rival Subaru OEM's. Inclusion of the Razo logo on the bottom of the shift knob is low profile yet gives the product a luxurious feel. The 400g weight of the knob sure reduces rattling of the shift knob, but the weight of the original Subaru shift knob isn't far off from that either.

I would recommend this shift knob to anyone who is looking to replace their knob with worn off leather. The only downside of this gear knob (in which potential buyers need to consider) is the lack of a "lip" to hold the shift knob boot.

5.0 out of 5 stars Good Buy!, September 21, 2010

The knob is an odd shape and appears small, but is ergonomic. The leather is not a texture I prefer but the stitching matches w/my car and is still of good quality. Best alternative if you're looking for a weighted shift knob (TWM, Sparco, Greddy, Skunk, etc.) and don't want to spend double or triple the amount for something that weighs less. Nylon sleeves hold up well too. I've had it for just under a month and shows no signs of coming loose.

This shift nob works great for me especial in the summer. My old gear shift would get approximately as hot as the surface of the sun. This one I have no problem get in my car on the hottest days. It came with multiple size adapters so it will work with any car you might buy. Love it and it doesn't even match my interior.

5.0 out of 5 stars Solid Shift Knob, June 4, 2010

I've been to my local auto parts stores looking for a shift knob recently and this knob is as good as the ones they are selling for 60 bucks. The adapter insert is nylon which is much better than the cheap HDPE plastic ones found in sub 20 dollar knobs. I would definately recommend this one if you like the feel of weighted shift knobs.

PS.... I think the picture at the amazon site shows the knob looking sort of purple, this is not the case it is black with red stitches.

I highly recommend this shift knob. Packaged somewhat like a nice watch, with red "velvet" surrounding it in the package, it really presents a quality view. The real leather (Not imitation leather)is soft & feels great in your hand. It's a perfect fit for my Miata, using the short insert. The red stitching is very even & of high quality. The silver "RAZO" emblem on the front of the knob adds an additional touch of class along with both 5 spd & 6 spd shift pattern stickers for your console. Just an added touch to a quality product.

The 400gm weight of the knob affects the shifting effort of an already good shifting car in a surprising way. You intuitively know that your shift is going into the next gear with the effect of the effort feels lighter. More like the shifter is directly connected to the transmission. Also helps that the price from Amazon was just $29.99 with free shipping. A great value even at full price! Equivilent knobs from other retailers are more money with poor quality or hokey mounting systems. RAZO has really put quality into this product.

5.0 out of 5 stars You want this Knob!, November 23, 2009
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: RAZO RA68A Palm Grip Shift Knob, 400g (Misc.)
Unless the shape totally turns you off, I highly recommend this shift knob. The first thing you'll notice is the weight. Even though I read that it weighed 400 grams, I was surprised at how heavy it felt in the shipping package.

The next thing you'll notice it the nice packaging. Just an added touch to a quality product. It's packaged somewhat like a nice watch, with red "velvet" surrounding it in the plastic. The leather (it is real leather) is soft and feels great in your hand. It's a perfect fit for my '85 MR2, a bit taller even with the short insert. The red stitching is very even and of high quality. The gold "RAZO" emblem on the front of the knob adds an additional touch of class. They even give you shift pattern stickers for your console.

The mass of the knob affects the shifting effort of an already good shifting car in a surprising way. You intuitively think that moving that much weight around would make the shifting feel heavier, but the effect is the opposite. I don't know why, but the effort feels lighter. More like the shifter is directly connected to the internals of the trans, and less like it is coupled through cables.

Bought it from Amazon for $29.99, had a $10 credit from a survey, so it only cost me $19.99 with free shipping. A great value even at full price!

Update: I have had this knob for almost 2 years now, and I still don't have any complaints. The leather is somewhat porous and doesn't shine when I apply leather cleaner, but it has held up through over 70,000 miles (I commute daily). Other than the dullness of the finish, which is not a problem at all, it shows no real signs of wear. And if it did, I would replace it in a heartbeat.

I can't recommend this knob highly enough.

This is a quality piece. It was dead easy to install and feels/looks great. Nice upgrade for "Bugger", my '95 M-Edition Miata. Amazon had the best price. I like being able to read the reviews before making a purchase. Good job, amazon.

1.0 out of 5 stars Didn't fit my car, September 26, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: RAZO RA68A Palm Grip Shift Knob, 400g (Misc.)
This didn't fit my 08 nissan altima because there is a tab to pull up to shift into reverse which this prevented when installed. If you have that type of stick shift I wouldn't get this. But the return was very easy and efficient.

Happily went back to my OEM shift knob after this. Doubt I'll ever think of changing it again. It changed the throw of the shift. I like stock from now on.
