It's a lot of fun for a CARS fan, and it is easier to maneuver for smaller kids. However, there are two problems:

1. Range: You have to be within 5 feet of the car for it to get the signal from the remote control, so you basically have to follow the car as it drives or else it stops -- my 3-year-old son didn't like to do this, assumed the car stopped, and kept asking for help.

2. Quality: One of the wheels stopped turning after the first day, making the car go in circles when you try to drive straight. I actually opened it up and moved the wires at which point it started working again, but then had the same problem the next day. The electrical connections just weren't made to last.

I'm going to buy a more reliable one and use this one without the remote control.

Cute car but it stopped working after a couple of weeks. We live on a hill, so it did have a lot of trouble coming up the hill (when it was working). It's just not durable and was also very difficult to maneuver, even for an adult.

It looks really fun, but this is the second one we've received as a gift that doesn't work. And no stores carry this anymore so we can't even return it this time.

My son received this as a gift and he loves it! Luckily, we haven't had any problems with it so far but I haven't taken it outside. It moves great on the carpet and the tile and my son thinks it's great!

The car was given to my son as a b-day gift, he is crazy about McQueen. After his birthday it no longer worked. Same problems as the other reviews. I am very disappointed.

Purchased this for my son last night because he is crazy about Lightening McQueen. It took 10 minutes to get out of the packaging, then another 10 minutes to figure out how the batteries go in the car/remote. Then it only occassionally worked and you had to stay right with the car to get the remote control to work at all. The car is made out of cheap plastic so if it took a spill off a table it would surely break. My 3 yr old son became bored with it because it wouldn't work.

First of all it took me some time to figure out where the battery compartment is on the RC..

Then Installed the batteries and it does nothing !

I tried everything.. brand new duracell batteries.. truning on /off

Its cute and all.. but doesnt work !!!

If anybody knows how to make it work it will be great.

I bought this for my 4 yr old son and it never did work properly. We changed batteries, etc, it just never did work right.

Too bad my son loves the car, but it has never worked. He got it as birthday gift and never worked right out of the box.

The car did not work. Tried all the usual fixes, new batteries and checking for obvious loose wire. Had a very upset grandson on Christmas morning. By the time I would have shipped it back it was just as cheap to go get one from a local store. So I got two good controllers 1 working car and a dead piece of plastic shaped like lightening McQueen. The one I purchased that works is fun and great.
