Addictive and mesmerizing,

For those of us who have 'excellence' as the main factor for the music we listen to, RC2 proves to be a heavyweight. Similar in many ways to Shadow Gallery and Dream Theater (yet not as obtusely intense), this group in reality forges a path of their own. They are highly innovative in many ways (such as including traditional Venezuelan musical instruments in some of their pieces) yet still rest their base solidly on time-proven techniques and rhythms. Looking for something fresh which you are almost guaranteed to like?... buy this CD. I HIGHLY recommend it.

If you like a fresh progrock band and a beautiful progrock album, you have to buy this. The Music of RC2 is on the road between Marillion, Rush and even Dream Theater. An amazing work on the keyboards, the lyrics are beautiful (in spanish) and the album is beautiful too. If you like progrock, you like RC2.

I saw this band playing live as a first act for a Dream Theater concert in Venezuela early this year (2008), and I was incredible impressed by both the music and the singing, so I decided to buy this CD.
All the songs are excellent, there is not a single weak song. I listen to this CD over and over and decided to share the reasons of why I like it so much. First, it is Spanish prog/art rock, so that alone makes it different from the lot. They even use a "Cuatro" on one song, that is a Venezuelan folk music instrument, and they play many complex 6/8 venezuelan waltzes that are really impressive. Second, the singing is quite good and original, so you won't feel like "More of the same prog thing". Five starts to the singing. Third, there are beautifull instrumental pieces that you can use to convince your wife to let you play this CD, and sneak good hard rock pieces in between. Fourth, musicianship is incredible, so if you like prog rock because of the complex playing, you'll get that, but keep in mind that this band is more like Marillion and less than Dream Theater, meaning that they play for the song, not to show off. Last, you got to support these guys so they can keep on making music together.

The first time I listened to this great band I knew they had something special. I liked the music instantly. Their sound is very unique even though they show a clear and present influence from bands like MArillion and even Yes (mainly on keyboards). If you want to expend your bucks wisely, man, you should buy this album and don't mind the spanish vocals, just open your ears and enjoy

Great band and album,

This a truly a great band and CD, you have to be open minded if you do not speak spanish. What I like the most about this band is that they enjoy re-visiting their own themes in different songs. They challenge themselves to re-orchestrate passages and I really take that in consideration. Once you listen to it a few times you can actually make connections in the songs and you keep having this strange sensation of deja-vu.Very melodic, very sensitive, very Enchant if you must compare them to another prog Band. If you are into prog and really like melodic stuff this is a good choice. You'll fall in love with the album |
