4.0 out of 5 stars Best Office Phone (so far)
I've had several different office phones over the past few years. Most recently, I purchased a Fanstel phone, after reading reviews and doing some research online. Unfortunately, this phone was more of a disappointment in that the speakerphone feature was horrible. Most calls could not be heard since every other word was dropped. 2.0 out of 5 stars GE Review
This phone was purchased for an elderly household based on a referral. The problem encountered was with the speakerphone quality. The phone was purchased with priority on the speakerphone for a specific usage. The sound broke up intermittenly during the entire transmission. There were too many buttons for a senior user, causing confusion and frustration.

I've had several different office phones over the past few years. Most recently, I purchased a Fanstel phone, after reading reviews and doing some research online. Unfortunately, this phone was more of a disappointment in that the speakerphone feature was horrible. Most calls could not be heard since every other word was dropped. So, I decided to research again and came across this RCA 2-line model. I've been using it for a few weeks and have been quite happy. I have one line, and therefore have not bothered with the 2nd line setting. It was easy to set up and use right from the start. Caller ID is large and backlit. Sound is very good through the handset and speakerphone. The speakerphone is loud and much, much better than the Fanstel. In fact, I can actually have a 2 way conversation with the RCA speakerphone. Saving names and numbers to the directory or quick access buttons is straightforward. I've attached a headset using the 2.5mm jack; an external amplifier is not necessary since the phone has one built in. Just attach your favorite headset, and start to use it. The volume setting for the headset is separate from the speakerphone, and this is recalled the next time you use that method to talk. Lastly, by simply pushing the down volume button, you quickly shut off the ringer for times when you don't want to be interrupted. Overall, I'm happy with this purchase and recommend this phone for home or small office use.

I bought the phone for my 81 year old mother. She had no problem setting up the options. There is no switch to allow for chosing either touch tone or pulse. For a small charge the phone company switched her to touch tone. Large caller Id screen and plenty of spaces for speed-dial numbers. She especially likes the flashing voice mail button. No more answering machine headaches. It comes with a second line set-up but if you don't need it it doesn't get in the way. The reciever is comfortable for your hand as well as your ear. Comes with the option of using the phone with a headset. It's got it all.
