I've had this TV for 2 years now and couldn't be happier. For a tube TV the picture is great and flawless when using your XBox. I have a surround sound set up so i cant comment on the sound, but this TV is a great buy with unbelievable value.

I am a college student so when I was shopping for a new tv I was looking at price and size. This tv appeared to be the right size and price for what I was looking for. I got it for about 220. I hate this unit. The tv gets these green shapes in the corners of the screen. The sound is horrible on certain channels. I listen to music on it and they sound like they sing in trash cans. I play Halo 2 on xbox with it and you can't hear the weapons shooting. All around junk. I decided to buy a surround sound unit because I hated the sound so much. There is something wrong with the jacks on the back because now when i change channels it makes a loud static noise, every time I change it. I don't have the box or receipt anymore or I would have gotten rid of it a long time ago. I think I may actually pawn it get the 10 bucks and try again!

I guess I really can't complain much since this isn't an HDTV, but it does have component inputs so it should at least support progressive scan, and finding a Vport now is almost impossible. However this is a really good TV, I have had it for a few years now and I haven't had any problems with it besides the TV Guide resetting itself every now and then (which I don't use anyway so it's no big deal), it has quite a few inputs so I have my Xbox, Computer, and Gamecube hooked up to it, but since it shares many connections like the S video and component video channels you have to chose one isntead of using them all, which sucks...

I've had this tv for a bit over two years, and the picture is completely gone. It was nice while it lasted, but now it is just a huge radio with mediocre speakers. Boo!

This is a great tv when it works, but after about 6 months of owning it the color/picture started having problems when the tv was on more than 1 hour and you change input sources.
I can play the xbox for about 2 hours before the picture starts to become un-stable, then if I change the input source the picture either becomes colorless or completely unwatchable.

I think I'll hold out on RCA products until they prove they've overcome their quality control problems; just do a google search for: "rca tv quality control problems".

i have had this tv for ova 3 years now and i have used it for displaying my computer screen and for playing my xbox, now xbox 360, my dvd player, snes, n64, my friends used to bring their ps2's ova and we would play ffxi together (i played on my comp they on my tv and ps2) and i havent had any problems with it and the screens look marvelous while playing games on 360 and any other systems so far



note: to any of u that have bought this tv and had problems try to remember when purchasing a large electronic that u save your receipt and warranty info and if possible by an extended warranty if u have any problems with it for some reason or another bcuz u must have gotten a defective unit of that model and the company that u bought it from or rca would replace it then for a new one or a newer model equivalent to the one you bought in specs (not price)

i just dont get the people wiht the winyness about this tv set i have had this tv for 3 years and it works perfectly not one problem. completly flawless when playing xbox/playstation

If you try to find out the maximum resolution of this television set you are in for quite an unpleasant surprise. Calling customer service, sending them a letter, it's all the same: the run around. Their customer serrvice reps will give you estimates and tell you what "most tv's horizontal resolution are capable of" but you will not know what YOUR tv is capable of because they simply refuse to answer the question directly. For example, I want them to tell me, "Your tv model # 27V550T is capable of a maximum of 750 lines of resolution through component, 500 lines through S-video, and 400 lines through composite". For some reason, the information about this tv's maximum horizontal resolution that this tv is capable of is being kept secret by RCA. They'll tell you, "Most tvs are caple of 450-900 lines depending on what component you're using" (in other words, the run-around). Be forewarned about this before purchasing this RCA television. You will NOT know the technical information you need. I guess the only thing common people like us can do when they give you the run-around and flick you off like a flee like this is write reviews with the truth about them and complain to a few sources which take complaints about these types of situations like the Better Business Bureau and the Federal Trade Commision.
