The CDS4100 provides a full-color, high-resolution TFT LCD screen for instant playback of your photos and accurate framing of your favorite pictures. The built-in flash can be set to automatic or manual to capture low-light action. A preflash mode is provided to reduce the annoying red-eye look.
RCA includes several features found in both 35mm point-and-shoot cameras and camcorders. A 10-second self-timer mode allows the photographer to get in the picture. A sequential shot feature takes nine shots in the blink of an eye so you can catch all the action in progress. For worry-free photography, the CDS4100 can be left in auto mode to automatically adjust to different lighting conditions. You can also manually adjust the exposure for special lighting and background conditions. For artistic flexibility, RCA has included the option to shoot in color, B&W, and sepia modes.
The MGI PhotoSuite software allows you to crop and resize your photos, add captions or color touches, make calendars, or print enlargements. This little digital camera also lets you review your photos from your TV screen with the included video cable--you can create a slide show without the hassle of setting up a projector screen.
The camera includes four Duracell Ultra 2 batteries, PhotoSuite software, camera driver software (for PC and Mac interfaces), PC and Mac serial cables, video cable, an AC adapter, a hand strap, and a carrying case.

Lack of any Factory Support makes RCA a poor choice,

This review is from: RCA CDS4100 1.5MP Digital Camera (Electronics)
At first impression I was pleased with the quality and features of RCA's CDS4100. Images were crisp and camera was relatively easy to use. When using the LED viewer, battery consumption was poor, as to be expected. What I did not expect was that the clasp that is used to lock the battery storage area is made of plastic. Having used the camera for no more than 10 battery changes, the plastic tab broke, rendering the camera unusable as the door must be locked for camera to have power. Since there is a one year warranty on the camera, I called to make an exchange at no charge. I was rudely informed that the camera was mishandled and the warranty was void...send $150 and the swap would be made! $150 to replace a plastic tab! I asked when would a camera be broken not as a result of mishandling...they told me "if it were to fall apart". Boy, that sure sounds like abuse to me! I sent a registered letter to RCA consumer affairs department compaining about my experience and was never given the courtesy of a letter or phone call in return. The camera is gathering dust at this time...and I will never buy RCA again!

I have had great pictures with the RCA cds4100 digital camera. The pictures are clear and you can opt for a preflash or not,I chose not to. The functions are easy to understand and use.The only problem I have with this item is that when I went to install it on my pc it ask for a twain driver and this was not part of the package. Now before I can download my pictures I have to find a twain driver, what it is ,where to buy it and how much additional it will cost.

Hey Mommies and DaddiesThis is a great camera for the kiddies or non techis who are buying a first camera. Make sure to buy digital camera or E-batteries- nonalkaline. The LCD eats batteries like it is going out of style. I purchased some Energizer/Photo batteries that lasted forever. I have a girlfriend who has to see every picture that we take and these batteries came in handy. ALSO be sure to keep the camera in the case. Spring Break sand easily scratches the LCD. Also, the lens is kindof in a poor spot. You have to be careful where your hand is all the time or everypicture will have you mitt in it. The camera works best on 95 and 98 and is useless on NT unless you have the CompactFlash Pigtail. I used to work at RCA.com and was given one, but this is a necessity for this lump of digital fun.. I have used this camera for 2 years and have carried it to 6 countries and all over the states and as long as you have a good computer to download to...no problems. Good luck.
