I bought this product for work. I found this product to be very well made. It is compact and the case is sleek. The screen is clear. It plays all my dvds and cds. It has many features that are similar to a larger dvd player. It is very user friendly and I am satisfied with this product. The audio without a headphone set is not very loud. I use a stereo headphone set and am impressed with the quality of sound. With the clear picture and crisp sound, the movie I watch is an enjoyable experience.

I would highly reccommend getting this player. First of all, it is very high quality. I have owned it for several months and havn't had a single problem with it. I previously owned a Magnavox portable player that had horrible overheating problems, I have used this for several hours in a row and it has never overheated. Also, the screen has a very good picture. This player also comes with several handy accessories. Such as a car charger, an AC adapter, a remote that is easy to use, a carrying case, and a battery. I would definitely reccommend this player over any others because it is a great buy. You get a great quality DVD player for a good price.

I did a lot of research and love this DVD Player. It has all the features you'd want and the battery snaps onto the bottom rather then being a big plug in thing on the side, the plug in cord is long, long battery life (it's even longer if turn brightness down), child button lock, and all the controls are on the player so you don't have to use the remote (unlike the Panasonic one). Carrying/display case is added bonus so you can hang the player from the back of a seat.

This little bugger is amazing. I just got one for my husband for father's day, and I got it at a great price on amazon. It comes with many goodies (including a carry case). If you are looking for a small portable dvd player.....this is the one you will want to buy. I researched, as I do before buying any product, and could not found any other manufacturer that gave you as much for the price. I have seen that some people complain about the sound, but I watched a dvd on middle volume (in a very loud living room) and heard it just fine. This little player is definitely worth every dollar!!!!

Just received the DVD player (about 36 hours after placing my order from Amazon -- good job shipping, guys!) and it seems to be a great product. Easy to operate, very nice picture and color, sound is excellent with headphones (dual capacity) and OK/good without them. I am certainly no "techie" so it all seems good to me, and it had the best price out there for a name brand with good reviews. There are lots of fancy features I haven't even had the chance to try yet.

Minor gripes: the polished lid will likely show a lot of scratches with just a bit of use, but that's only cosmetic; and I found the "open" button a little bit hard to use due to its small size, but not excessively so.

The only thing I wished I'd known beforehand was about the carrying case. (I looked everywhere for more info about it before ordering, but couldn't find anything, even on RCA's site.) Anyway, there is a carrying case included that has straps to attach over the headrest of your carseat or between the two headrests, and it will do the job of holding your player up in the car, but the case itself is very small -- it is barely big enough to hold just the player and the battery pack. They fit in the case literally "like a glove" which I suppose might be OK in that the thing sure isn't going to rattle around any! The directions say to disconnect the battery pack when not in use, but you can barely jam both of them into the case unless the battery is connected -- I did manage it finally but had to put the battery pack on top which I fear will eventually scratch the polished lid. I couldn't even squeeze the instruction manual in with the player. Maybe I'll get better at packing with practice, or maybe the leather-like case will stretch a little -- the back "hinge" is slightly elastic. There are no additional pockets in or on the case for any of the accessories provided (car jack, AV cables, AC cable/battery charger, and remote control), not to mention any DVDs or any headphones, so that will be a pain because it will mean a whole separate case for travel, which is why I bought this in the first place. I guess if you have lots of storage space in your car you could just leave everything in the car permanently.

I had another larger carrying case in my shopping cart, but decided I'd give the RCA one a chance and so I deleted it. Mistake -- wish I hadn't been so cheap and would've left it in there! If you want to carry all your DVD equipment together in one place for travel, do yourself a favor and get another carrying case.

So other than that, the player itself seems great! I'll edit my review if it needs it after our upcoming 14-hour car trip with six people in the car. (Sigh...)

Very impressed with the overall functionality of this item. It was the most affordable name-brand portable DVD player that I found. Very dependable, nice picture, plenty of functions. It does everything I need and didn't break my wallet.

I just purchased this to use with my toddler on long car trips. So far, it's fantastic. It's a nice, small unit, and quite light without the battery (which easily detaches if you don't need it). The speakers have the capability to be very loud, and the sound quality is acceptable (though not great). The player came with a nice little case, which can be hooked over the back of car seat (though the information in the description doesn't say this). So...try that out before you buy a separate case.

It was easy to use, and the picture quality is good, with very nice, bright colors. The resolution isn't great, but it's better than I expected. I'll come back once we've used it for a little while.

We own two of these and they do work fine, except a battery has gone bad on one of the players after one year.

I have been unable to find a replacement battery and was informed buy RCA that they don't even list the part number. (It appears that Radio Shack sells a Universal Battery for Portable DVD Players, but it sure won't attach to this player like the original one does. It would just be a loose battery pack.)

I don't know if this is true for all DVD players, but it sure is a big disappointment with this one.

I bought this for traveling with my two year old. I have owned it for a month and my daughter watches it almost every day. In the house, with hands on the screen (I left the film attached), knocking it off the arm of the couch and ottom and the thing still works great. The picture and sound quality are great. However, you will need to purchase a larger carrying case, for all of your goodies, becuase the one provided is only big enough for the dvd player. The case is used to attach to you car seat so it needs to have a snug fit and that it does. I highly recommed this product for adults or children. Another plus, this item actually comes with a manual, unlike some of the other RCA products. Good luck shopping.

I bought this player about 3 weeks ago for taking on trips. We were really impressed with it especially for the price we payed. It has lots of great features that we like such as being able to show pictures from a cd and being able to play mp3 or WMA music files.

The only thing I don't like about the player is that we have to either use amplified headphones or plug it into the car stereo. For some reason on our player the headjacks don't play loud enough, but maybe that is just a quirk our player has.
