Below is my original review. But after a few trips it stopped playing 99% of dvds. I called RCA about the warrenty and they said it would cost me $90 to fix it. WHILE UNDER WARRENTY! That is horrible customer service. I will never buy another RCA product and I urge you to NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT!

Pros
- Great prices for dual lcd monitors.
- Quality materials
- No dead pixels that I am aware of on my set.
- Comes with AC adapters for both both cigarette lighter and wall outlet.
- Because my child is still in a rear facing car seat, the only way to mount the dvd player in my car easily was to mount it upside down. In the menu system, there is an option to flip the picture upside. Odd option normally, but great option in this case!
- DVD player is in one of the tv's. So no extra bag or unit to attach or take up room in the car. Only need 1 cable for power and 1 cable running between units.

Cons
- Honestly, none so far.

Possible Cons (Stuff I havent tried, but could be issues in some cases)
- Havent tried to hook up a 3 party device like Wii or PS2 or other system.
- I believe, the cable running between units is specifict to this device. Might be hard to replace if it breaks.
- Not sure if you can add more screens in the future.

Overall
-I highly recommend for the price. Best dual monitor dvd player for the car in that price range in my opinion. We take longer than a 1 hour in the car without bringing this for our daughter.

My family loves our new RCA Drc629n dual screen dvd player. At first I thought that I would have to return them, because the installation straps are vertical and I really needed something horizontal since my Dodge Durango's headrest are all one solid piece. I decided to try to criscross the straps and it worked perfectly. My children can't wait to get in the car and watch the their movies it keeps them quiet on the way home and also long trips. The clarity of picture on the screens are AWESOME. GREAT Price!!

We got this dual screen for christmas for our 4 kids. It has worked really good for the past 3 months until about 3 weeks ago. The second screen cuts out or all of sudden stops playing for no reason. I paid about $200 for this and I was hopping it would last a few years. One screen still works but that is no good for all 4 children. I don't think I would buy this again. I am going to purchase a vehicle with the dvd player already in it.

We all love this! With two screens, great picture, and has an earphone connection, this dvd player is wonderful. Hooks up easily, attaches to the headrests quickly and the screens slide off so they can be tucked away when not in use. This was a wonderful purchase and I highly reccommend it!

This has served its purpose. The only issue I had was finding a battery for the unit as it doesn't come with one if you are planning a bus or train trip.

Remedy: Energizer Universal DVD Battery/Charger (ERDVDMINI) (ERDVDMINI) - Provides at least 2 hrs with one screen (possibly more). If you use both screens assume less run time.

The OEM battery is impossible to find anywhere except by contacting RCA directly and it is $99.

I decided to try the Energizer out as it claimed to provided the same run time as the RCA battery and it did not disappoint. I noticed on the package that the battery time is dependant on the size of the screen and whatever functions you may be using so I suspect that if I used double screens then the time will be cut in at least half but I did get a solid 2 hours out of it with power to spare with one screen with a single DVD test.

One other thing to pay attention to are the instructions on initial charge:

For the first 3 charges you must charge for 13 hours each time.

This should condition the battery for on going usage as this is NIMH and not Lithium Ion.

Very quick service even with a delay caused from a blizzard I received the DVD player in 4 days! I tried it out at home to be sure it worked and the picture was great. I ordered two of these by mistake and WholesaleAv was great, they cancelled my second order right away. You can't beat the price anywhere!

Does everything they say it does. You can even get it back in the storage case they give you after you unpack it!

This is our second portable DVD player and our second piece of junk. We decided to go with a name like RCA because we wanted this to be our last purchase, at least for awhile. It lasted for one long trip (thankfully). Now it won't play 99% of our DVD's (one's it previously played), it especially does not like Disney movies. I keep getting no disc or it tries to play it and the picture is all broken up and the sound cuts out. Keep searching because this product is not worth your money.

I rarely write reviews of products, but the performance of this product warrants it. All I can say is, we had it for a few months, and used it only occasionally (i.e. on trips) and stored it indoors. One day during a trip we were plugging it in, and......... nothing. No power light or anything. I am an electrical engineer, so I know electronics pretty well, so it is not an issue with the car. There is 12V getting to the unit. I am going to tear these things apart and try to diagnose the problem, but all I can say is that my father bought an Insignia at the same time for the grandkids, and it has worked fine. I have also owned a Cyberhome single DVD portable, and that is junk too. I have already torn it apart and I think I can fix it (power jack solder joint is cracked). Hopefully the RCA is just as easy. SAVE YOUR MONEY, buy something else.

If this item becomes available again, and is being sold by Worldwide Distributors, don't buy it from them. I ordered the dual DVD for a beach trip in the spring. When I received it, one of the screens didn't work. I sent it back and asked them to send the replacement to a different address, since we were traveling. They replaced it, but sent it to the wrong address. When I finally received it, this second DVD player was also broken. Again, one of the screens didn't work (different screen this time). I sent that one back and asked for a full refund, including shipping. They gave me a refund on the DVD players, but didn't refund the shipping. So by dealing with this company, I lost roughly $50 in shipping and put up with a lot of hassle in unpacking, setting up, breaking down, repacking, resending. Unfortunately, by the time I went back to rate this company, the window had expired.
