I purchased this to replace my old RCA 6100 that was having problems with reading DVD's that were created on my computer. This model 6300 works perfect on DVD's I create with or without a menu from my computer. I also have an RCA TV so with this DVD/VCR model I can control all functions of the DVD/VCR/TV with the remote that comes with the RCA DRC6300. If you have a TV other than RCA you will probadly need to use another remote to control your TV functions. I liked the way this unit set its own time from the antenna. The older RCA 6100 covered the A/V jacks on the front panel with a little door so if you were not using them then it looked better. This 6300 model doesn't have the door so the A/V jacks are always visible. My bottom line is I would recommend it as a strong buy.

Do not buy this product from RCA. I have been a long time loyal RCA consumer until recently. This is the second RCA item in the last few years that I have purchased that is of very poor quality. The DVD player does not play some DVDs, and quit working properly shortly after warranty expiration. What happened to the RCA quality of years past? Good-bye RCA. Hello Sony.

I purchased this unit a few years ago thinking that RCA was a decent brand named product. Right from the start I had problems with the dvd player. It wouldnt play some store bought dvds, and others would have problems accessing the menus and skipping. Then the vcr began to go. It ate a few tapes and would record so badly that the tracking could not be fixed. I thought I was dirty so I tried using a head cleaner, but it even tried to eat that too!!!! I had a service plan with warranty and luckily I did, because the parts that were needed are not available anymore. I decided to buy an LG dvd recorder with a built in harddrive and so far it is great.
