1.0 out of 5 stars not worth it!
The vcr works fine, but the dvd player didn't work from day 1. It plays for a minute or two, then freezes. I brought it to a repair center and the tech told me it was the 4th one he took in during the past month. The toll free# is 800-311-9263.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best Product In It's Class, December 30, 2005
This review is from: RCA DRC6350N DVD/VCR Combo (Electronics)
I originally purchased a DVD/VCR Combo unit for my mom for Christmas. I've tranferd all her old home movies, etc from VCR to DVD so I was looking for one that would play DVDr's. Even though the first unit I purchased specified it did when I tested it....nothing. Everything worked purfectly except the ability to play recorded dvd's which is why I got it. So I returned to the store for unit number 2 from another manufacturer....Same thing.....Unit 3 another manufacturer...same thing.....Unit 4 another manufacurer.....same thing. All these units specified they would but didn't. Finally I came across The DRC6350N. I brought it home to test without any faith at all. Plugged it in, inserted disc and my face dropped. It recognized the disc within 3 seconds and I was watching my dvd at last. I watched the entire 90min home movie just to make sure. Then I did the same with 3 more recorded dvd's. All of them played great, seemless motion video. Even better than my stand along dvd player that I love but it does have an occational fraction of a sec freeze with DVDr's but not this one, it played purfect. After my excitement left I tested other aspects of the unit, vcr played flawlessly and very quick response from the front buttons and remote. I can't think of anything bad to say about this unit. If you must have a dvd/vcr combo and may have a need to play recorded dvd's the FORGET about the rest of them, I've tried just about all of them. This one does what it claims to do to perfection.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best VCR Quality I've Ever Seen!, April 17, 2007

RCA may have had issues with this unit. I've owned it for 2 months (K-Mart, $89 sale, $119 original price). When I went to register it on the RCA website, I found that it is not mentioned among either their current or past products. The currently supported DVD/VCR combos feature a 4-year VCR, not the 6-head VCR on this unit.

I couldn't be happier. The DVD plays crystal clear as you would expect. But the VCR was quite a revelation. The 6-head player here has the best picture quality I've ever seen on a VCR. It even plays tapes that I recorded on an older VCR at SLP speed incredibly well.

The controls are easy to operate. You don't need the manual. The remote doesn't have the highest-quality feel or best button arrangement, but it works fine. I also like the fact that the player is very quiet; you don't hear any motor buzz or whirring during play of either tapes or DVDs.

Don't know what the story is with this being discontinued. I suspect, based on other reviews, that this unit may have had reliability issues. But, so far so good. I've always had good luck with RCA products.

5.0 out of 5 stars Another Supreme RCA Product, June 20, 2010
This review is from: RCA DRC6350N DVD/VCR Combo (Electronics)
While I know this unit has been discontinued, after four years of owning the DRC6350N I must rate it's dependability.

I have purchased VCRs for years and the units produced by RCA have always been head and shoulders above their competition. I once made the mistake of buying a Fisher and the damned thing broke twice on me. I've never had those problems with RCA units. The DRC6350N was no exception. It was easy to set up and since I was already familiar with RCA VCRs, the DVD/VCR combo was a cinch to master.

The DVD plays back CDs and DVDs and even DVD-Rs, although we had a problem with one DVD-R, it may only have been the DVD itself, not the unit, since the replacement DVD-R worked splendidly. A previous reviewer mentioned that the remote was not quite as up to par as previous RCA remotes. I would have to agree with his observation. The buttons are small and they are placed oddly on the hand unit. But this is a quibble. The unit itself is/was a masterpiece. I wish it had not been discontinued. Does anyone know what has superseded it?

3.0 out of 5 stars RCA Combo., September 28, 2007

This review is from: RCA DRC6350N DVD/VCR Combo (Electronics)
I purchased the RCA DVD/VCR Combo approximately 2 years ago on sale from 6th Ave. Electronics. For the price ($50) it's a good product, until one day the video began getting fuzzy. Oh-oh! Fortunately, Dad has a more reliable RCA VCR which was purchased 6 years ago and still works fine. The 6350 DVD is still working.
I did recommend this product to a neighbor, who has the same problem with the VCR being fuzzy, yet, the DVD works fine. Chances of recommending anyone else of this particular product is not likely.
