I purchased a DSS system over a year ago. The system is wonderful! First of all, my monthly bill is less than what I was paying for cable and with a greater selection of sports, movies, and all programming. The picture is much clearer than cable, and that is including digital cable. The sound is exellent, and with the right equipment, it sound just like a movie theater. I would recommend the RCA DSS system to anyone who asks, and I do! If your debating switching to satellite, then I hope this sways your decision. No I don't work for Directv either. By the way you will be able to receive local channels soon.

This Directv system is wonderful. You can have access to all cable channels, also local channels through the same dish antenna without having to spend extra money for another dish. Also, going from one channel to another is very rapid compared to the other big company. But there is one thing that is not that great: if you live in a place where there is a lot of big storms, the signal will fade and eventually, you'll lose the signal for a few minutes. The samething will happen if you have a snow build up on the dish antenna. But besides that, the Directv RCA system is wonderful. Great value, sound and image!

This is a great system! I would reccomend it to anyone interested in purchasing a DSS system. I bought the dual LNB system (system with the satellite dish and 2 receivers) at Wal-Mart for a great price of $199.96. Radio Shack charges $149 for just the dish and 1 receiver. There is only one thing bad about it (and all sytems) if you want to add more receivers you have to buy another receiver and also have to purchase a special digital satellite splitter (to run the cable to different rooms of your home, because a regular splitter doesn't work correctly) which runs from $50-$200. Which I had to buy to add a 3rd receiver. It was a little tricky finding just a receiver and not the whole sytem, but I did it. But overall, this is a great buy, and I would reccomend it to anyone looking for a DSS system.

System has superior picture. But beware you have a clear path to the satellite (the one in the sky).Trees and wind will severely hamper or completely knock out your reception. I have even lost reception with just clouds! P.S. NFL Sunday Ticket ! Probably the reason you will buy it. I did.

The RCA DS2122RD is a great satellite system. Featuring the industry's most customer-oriented on-screen displays and menus, this system is easy for anyone to use. The installation menu makes set-up much easier for you do-it-yourselfers, and the program guide can be segmented in to personalized lists/categories for those times when you're only interested in one thing - sports for the guys and 'soaps' or talk shows for the ladies. And best of all, the DS2122RD doesn't only perform at the top of the line, it also looks great too. It isn't obtrusive or an eyesore. It is essential for anyone who has cable and wants to step up to the next level or simply wants to get the most out of their home theater set-up. Anyone would agree that this system is Great!

This is a great satellite system if you don't ever have to replace the receiver and don't need questions answered. You can not buy JUST the receiver you must also purchase the dish again and of course pay full price. Also we've had a heck of a time getting through to anyone at DirectTV about billing questions, options, problems... and for this you will pay a premium price. If you're way up north where we are you also run into not getting optimum reception since the "bird" is down over Texas. There are other companies who have a bird over Canada which is a clearer shot for us way up here. If DirectTV fixes these problems and prices itself more competively they'd be a better deal. Don't just buy a satellite and take the salesperson's word for it... ask your neighbors who have satellite first and do a bit of research as to how easy it would be to replace just the receiver or just the dish.... compare prices and find out where the satellite bird is in relation to where you are. Also no matter what system you go with but especially the RCA one GET A SURGE PROTECTOR for the receiver:-)

For all you cheapskakes this is the system for you. It is very dependable.

The RCA DS2122 satellite system has outstanding picture and sound quality. Wooo weee - loads of fun with huge amounts of channels to watch.

Downside is supscription prices similar to cable. Worth it for the quality of the pictures and selection.

Can't figure out where to put the soap. Still looking for the button labeled "do the dishes". Guess I still need a dishwasher.

Can this dish go from the freezer to the microwave to the table? I think this system should come with a digital chef or at least a cook book. Will your digital dishes taste as good as real food? Probably if you don't over cook them. Can't wait for digital spoon so I can eat.
