The VPORT greatly simplifies a connection with Microsoft's Xbox video game system--which means you'll have the game control in hand in no time. This connection also enhances gaming by delivering dramatically improved picture detail for Xbox functions. The port also serves as a second component video input.

The F27650's three-line comb filter further enhances picture quality by removing blurred edges between colors and reducing dot crawl (tiny, moving dots of color along a sharp color separation in a vertical line, as in depiction of a striped T-shirt). Also, the set's G-LINK Connector allows the GUIDE Plus+ GOLD System to work with a VCR (enabling one-touch record) and cable box (providing the ability to tune directly to a station while the program guide is on a TV screen).

Auto color balance resets the individual picture tube guns (red, green, blue) to maintain consistent overall picture quality for the life of the tube, and auto color control maintains natural tones and color fidelity from channel to channel and scene to scene. A feature called Dynamic Black Stretch extends black levels in bright scenes to enhance contrast and detail, while the set's high-performance video amplifier delivers high resolution and clarity by extending the video frequency response. Connections include two sets of stereo audio/video inputs with S-video and component video inputs (YPrPb) and one pair of switchable audio outputs. A set of front-panel audio-video inputs accommodates a camcorder.

I was originally set on getting a more reputable name brand for tube televisions such as Sony or JVC. However, when I saw this RCA television on display in a local electronics store I totally changed my mind. The screen itself is less convex than most tube televisions, making it appear like a flat screen and lowering the amount of glare. Aside from the set itself just looking really stylish (the internet pictures do it absolutely no justice), the color quality and screen resolution are spectacular (the screen has 720 lines I believe-- the picture looks REALLY sharp), and the sound is excellent (because of the speakers being on opposite sides of the television rather than underneath it, this television doesn't suffer from the "sound mix" problem some have-- this makes a big difference, especially when coupled with it's "enhanced stereo" processing mode!) The only problem with the sound I have is that DVDs I watch seem to suffer from unbalanced bass/treble (the voices seem too low) but I'm not sure yet if that is the television or the DVD player causing this. It has a good number of varied inputs (s-video, vport, component, etc.) and a sufficient number of miscellaneous features (v-chip, audio modes, color adjustments, TV program schedule, etc). I have a Playstation 2 connected to this TV and have to admit the television is awesome for gaming! To top everything off, and probably most importantly: the price is fantastic! For a top of the line, high quality 27" television there is no way you can go wrong by purchasing this product for such a low price.

At first, my heart was set on getting a Sony, but the price was outside my budget. I turned to Amazon to get feedback from folks on models in my price range. As I read the reviews of the other's I thought this might be the model to pick. The display model looked pretty good and for the price, it had everything we were looking for and more. We bought it and when we got it home (rather large box) we couldn't get over the excellent picture quality and sound. Since we are on a Satellite dish, we don't need the feature of the Guide Plus so you need to be quick with the clear button, but my son's vidoe games, VHS, DVD, and TV programs look great. I'm really glad I read the reviews here as it was most helpful with all the selections out there. Thanks!

This is a great TV for the money. Compared to other 27" TVs in the same price range, this TV is far above the rest. The 3 line comb filter creates sharp pictures with vivid color. The picture controls are easy to adjust to fit anyone's personal preferences. Unlike other TVs, the speakers are set on the sides of the screen, which creates a "surround sound" effect without buying a lot of extra equipment. The three inputs allow you to attach any other electronics (DVD, VCR, etc) easily. While RCA has a deal with X-Box and has a special input for the X-Box system, all other gaming systems work great with this TV (Playstation, Playstation 2, and GameCube). The guide feature is extremely useful, but can be hard to navigate at times. The instruction booket isn't too helpful, but setup is easy and after "fiddling" with the features you can figure most of them out. All in all, a great TV that is well worth the money.
