Exclusive digital circuitry and advanced features deliver outstanding picture performance with up to 900 lines of horizontal resolution. Computer-aligned 10-bit digital focus circuitry provides precise and consistent picture performance from the moment the TV is turned on. Digital focus maximizes picture brightness with sharper corner focus ensuring a beautifully detailed picture across the entire screen. Meanwhile, an advanced 3-line digital comb filter dramatically boosts color and edge detail and enhances picture resolution by eliminating blurred edges between colors and reducing dot crawl.

High-performance scan velocity modulation (SVM) automatically varies the scanning speed of the picture tube's electron beam to improve sharpness and detail, especially in high contrast areas. Adaptive video noise reduction greatly reduces noisy picture interference by automatically adjusting to the incoming signal level, providing a cleaner and more consistent overall picture. A dark-tint screen offers 25 percent improved brightness and enhances picture contrast with blacker blacks, brilliant whites and rich colors. The RCA P56950 is built to last, as well. Auto color balance resets individual picture tube guns (red, green, blue) to maintain consistent overall picture quality for the life of the tube.

There's plenty to love in the sound department of the P56950, too. A 10-watt stereo amplifier enhances stereo performance and can power optional left/right or surround speakers. Broadcast stereo with dbx noise reduction improves the clarity and fidelity of stereo broadcasts by restoring dynamic range and suppressing unwanted noise. Low-noise circuitry delivers a 60 dB signal-to-noise ratio for spectacular-quality sound while Matrix Surround Sound synthesizes rear-channel information to create theaterlike surround sound. SRS Focus Audio Technology raises the sound stage to ear level providing more lifelike audio. Combined with SRS 3D Sound, it creates a fully immersive "live performance" listening experience from as few as two stereo speakers.

Focus technology is ideally suited for home applications when speakers cannot be placed in optimal locations for either space or aesthetic reasons. Other key audio features include a Sound Logic Audio Leveler that eliminates the annoying "blast" of sound during commercial breaks and a Second Audio Program (SAP) feature that decodes the second audio program available on some broadcasts.

I love my new tv. The picture is sharper than I expected and the sound is pretty good. The remote is pretty good also. It controls my DVD player as well as my Sony stereo. The only thing I don't like about is that I have yet to get Guide plus+ to work and I have had the tv for about 3 months.
