Excellent MP3 Player,
This review is from: RCA Lyra RD1071 128 MB Pocket Digital MP3 Player (Electronics)
I have owned this MP3 player for about three years and am very satisfied with it. The player can hold 128 megabites worth of songs and you can buy extra memory for the player if you desire. The player is a very durable and high quality product. I have brought this with me on several trips and is I have never had any problems with it tearing up. The headphones are very comfortable and provide a good quality of sound. The player will take Windows Media Audio sound files, so you don't have to convert the files if you are using a Windows machine, just plug it in and transfer the music to the player. The player will also work with Macintosh machines. It will also work with whatever program you are comfortable with, such as Windows Media Player or Musicmatch Jukebox. The player is also designed well and easy to use. It is also a very sleek looking player. It comes with headphones, a USB connector, and software to install Musicmatch, if you don't have a music program already. I would definitely reccommend this player to anybody.

Excellent Mp3 Player!,

I've had my Lyra for just about two years now and it has been working flawlessly. I like it's small and compact design and that all the controls can be used with one hand. It has also proven to be very durable, not only have I dropped it multiple times, I have also sent it through the washer and dryer twice, and both times it booted right up and started playing my music. On average, I store around fifty tracks, about 4 albums, using the Mp3Pro format. The battery life is great for a single AAA, it's saved me from listening to screaming kids on the bus for days at a time on one battery. Overall I highly recommend this Mp3 player, and if it ever does break, I will be ordering the newest in line from RCA.

I got this MP3 player for Christmas 2 years ago and I have not had any problems with it. Its a very compact size so its easy to take anywhere. I only wish that it could hold more music. I can generally fit around 25 songs at a time on it. If your looking for something simple and don't want to spend a lot of cash, this is a good item. I use it all the time for my workouts and its great.

I got my Lyra as a Christmas gift about two years ago. I quickly maxed out the storage capacity, fortunately, the memory is expandable, and I bought a 1GB SD card for it. Lately, I've been having problems with my Lyra shutting off spontaneously, we'll have to see how RCA handles the problem. My rating could go up to five stars if the customer service comes through. Comes with file managing software, but I don't use it. It's really easy to drag and drop the files you want, and it can store anything, not just music. I use the SD card in my digital camera too. It doesn't have any FM radio or recording features, but I haven't missed it. Gets great battery life, I got almost 10 hours out of one little AAA. Get the rechargeable batteries, and you'll be set!

As good as it's going to be!!,

Despite the fact that the RCA MP3 can support a 1 GB SD card, it can only read a total of 99 songs PERIOD. That was not brought to my attention, but hey you can't get it all for a dollar, or in this case under 30.

I've owned one of these bad boys for about three years now. I could only get about 20 songs on it, but with the memory card I can fit over 70. The item is small and ideal for wearing when you're working out, as it won't get in the way. My one problem with it is that once the battery reaches about the halfway mark, the player tends to get real fussy: it will turn itself off periodically or freeze.

I had one of these for probably 2-3 years; I haven't had any problems with it. Works beautifully, and, as other customers have mentioned, the controls are entirely usable with one hand. The USB 1.1 connection is a bit slow by modern standards, but it's only 128MB.Unfortunately, I broke the headphone jack when I was taking off my backpack one day; it now only plays out of one ear unless you wiggle the plug. Assuming you don't do anything stupid like that, it should last a long time. (If you're curious, I replaced it with a Creative Zen Nano Plus -- now discontinued, as far as I can tell, but it's also a great MP3 player.)

I acutally found mine in the street and i picked it up and it worked perfectly. Its obviously very durable. I Hooked it up and packed in 70 tracks which is pretty good for 128 Megabytes. I recommend it for anyone who doesnt have a lot of music but wants to have an mp3 player to hold their music.
