The RP2442's 180-second esp-Xtreme skip protection keeps the music flowing throughout travel and workouts, while Smart Resume remembers your exact track location at the time you last powered down and starts from that point when the unit is turned on again. Playback features include refined, 32-increment digital volume up/down and digital bass boost for extra low-end slam. A hold switch prevents unintended interruptions in playback and saves batteries by negating playback when the player is stopped. Supplied with the player are X-Phone stereo headphones (which sit comfortably behind your head without slipping forward), a color-coordinated wired remote control, and a carrying strap. The unit operates for approximately 24 hours on two AA batteries (not included).

All of the listed features of this unit WOULD have been great,if only it had clear sound. I purchased the orange (actually yellow) version (RP2443) of this unit after checking out all the specs on the RCA website. In theory, a great machine. But as soon as I fired it up, I was greeted with background hiss and fluctuating static sounds. I frowned, changed discs, and got the same. I changed headphones - same results. What's the point of using a CD player? I got results like this from audio cassette. Tomorrow, I'll be returning it and try a different product. A frustrating waste of time.
