RCA's RP7989 portable stereo features a digital CD player, cassette deck, AM/FM tuner, and a remote control. This stereo has two full-range 4-inch speakers and a bass boost switch. Programming functions include 20 station presets (10 AM and 10 FM) and 20-track CD memory. The six-digit LCD screen displays tuner and CD status. With automatic stop and automatic recording level control, the cassette deck can record directly from the CD or the tuner. The remote control provides ready access to CD, tuner, and volume functions including bass boost and mute. Convenience features include a headphone socket, one-touch recording, cassette carry door with cushion eject, and continuous play. AC/DC operation permits use of either batteries or AC power with the detachable AC power cord. This stereo comes with a 1-year limited warranty.

Good sound...,

This RCA stereo may have a small prrice but it is mighty in its performance. The bass and the treble sounds are very distinct and the balance is excellent. The controls are simple to use and the unit is user friendly. RCA will always be a good name in consumer electronics and this piece is no different. Plus the remote control offers the ease of using and operating it from multiple locations.

This is an excellent stereo CD player and radio, in one box, for a great price. The batteries last a reasonably long time, and the unit also comes with an electrical connection to use when outlets are available. It's an especially solid device for teens, who can sometimes be rough on their possessions. It's too bad that the product is no longer available.
