OK, I was just like you reading reviews to make my decision on purchasing this RCA disc player. The main reason it caught my eye was the price. For eighty bucks how could you not buy it? Anyway, this system is remarkable! The sound is crystal clear and full of life. The remote is great. I can easily control this thing from all over my room. It has a nice, big, colorful screen which you can see across the room. The lights on the top tell you if you have a cd in that slot or not, for instance, if you have a cd in space 4 or not. It has a cool feature to block all the songs you don't want to hear. It is awesome to be able to change all of the other cds while at the same time getting unskipped response from the playing one. The one con is that the shuffle is a little slow (when changing discs).

Pros: 1)sound is GREAT 2)remote helps a lot 3)Big, visible, colorful screen 4)lights on top tell you where you have cds 5)lots of features 6)can replace the other four discs while keeping the other one playing (uninterupted) 7)And you can't forget the PRICE!

Cons: 1)shuffling between discs is a little slow.

Overall, its a great buy. I highly recommend it to people who just want to hear great music (for a cheap price).

I was not even planning to buy a CD changer at this time, but when I saw the RCA RP8065 Changer I could not believe how nice it was...the price was just a bonus, this player competes well with more expensive units, and I am shocked at how nice the unit is, not even the least bit cheesy.

If you have an older RCA Stereo system such as the high end Dimensia system from the late 80's, you will be pleased to know that almost all functions of the RP8065 can be accomplished with the Dimensia System remote control. This is quite a bonus in my book, as many post Dimensia CD Players from RCA will not work with RCA's system remotes (to my knowledge), but this one does, and it even turns on and off like a system component.

The Changer is only lacking in the fact that it does not have direct track access, you only have up or down with the remote. But overall, this is a super deal in this price range, put this player on your shelf and it looks, acts and sounds like a player costing much much more.

Bought it only because it was on sale, turned out to be a great system. Had it a year now, no problems with clarity or playback. Nice features, including a swap-on-the-fly to change discs while others are playing and lamps on the front to tell you which slots have discs and which don't. No more "Where did I put my discs?" in the carousel.

Overall a great CD player and a great value!

Looks good and plays great. Why pay more? I replaced the old Sony player due to its tendancy to skip when the volume went up. I had this RCA unit rattling the walls and never a skip. Buy two and give one as a gift like we did.

This five disc cd player has great features for the low cost, it has shuffle playing, as well as allowing you to replay tracks you like as well as program your music from among five cd's that can be loaded. Also a nice big screen display. which can be read across a lifing room.

I received this "player" as a gift for Christmas in 1998. Within a year, it was completely shot and would not even read or play CD's, even brand new CD's. It wouldn't play in any mode. I had previously owned a JVC single CD player for nine previous years and never had any problems. I don't care how attractive this player is because of the price, it you spend money on it you will be very disappointed when it fails to operate. And I didn't operate the player in adverse conditions. Cheap junk. The salesman tried to tell me that the laser eyes have changed in the newer models but I still say this player is not worth crap.

This is the biggest piece of junk audio equipment I have ever owned, It lasted about one year before it didn't work anymore. Do yourself a favor and spend a couple of extra bucks and buy a quality brand. RCA's audio products are all cheap junk like GPX, but with the RCA name slapped on them.

i purchased this product from a large electronics store, and not even a year later the laser is shot. Now all it does is sit in a box under my bed and collect dust. This product is decieving. The price is good, but not worth the risk of it breaking on you in less than a year

The reviews were great but....The first one I got skipped segments ofdiscs 2 when in shuffle mode. Sent it back to Thomsen Electronics andpromptly received a replacement. This one does nothing but perform 'READ" function and then says No Disc. Now I'm mad at RCA and Amazon for selling this piece of junk.

You can't beat the deal! Excellent quality for the price. I've bought the Toshiba version and it is great too but had this been available at the time I would have two RCAs.
