Maybe this works a little too well. I got this for my 14yo daughter for christmas, now I'm always telling her to turn her music down. You can hear it well throughout the house. She set it up herself without needing my technical assistance. Didn't realize there was a remote control to it which makes this even nicer.

I am very happy with this purchase. However I am using this opportunity to warn other shoppers about my experience with RCA's emusic.com free download coupon that is included in the box. Basically they allow you 50 free tracks for download (and one audiobook). What they don't tell you is that if you go over the 50 tracks, you are not charged per track, but you are charged $30.95 and are automatically "upgraded" to the first level of membership. And there are no refunds. No fine print, no warning at all. I disputed the charge with my credit card company, and we will see what happens. So go ahead, buy the product but stay away from the "free" offer!

Portable, lightweight, and easy to use. Decent price. I bought it to use with my iPod touch at work. It sounds great! Does not give me any error messages when I plug my iPod into it. Remote is very handy. Can run on batteries or plugged in to a wall outlet. Would definately recommend this product. Worth the $$!!

This was way better then I thought it would be for the price. I am really impressed with the sound quality, it is way better then expected.

After doing hours of research on all available iPod speakers I decided to pick this one up plus Amazon had it on sale. I just received it the other day and I would highly recommend it. I was worried about my iPhone not fitting since I use a case and it's such a hassle to remove. The RCA has and extra tall dock connector so my iPhone fits WITH the case on, HUGE bonus. The sound quality is very good as it has three speakers INCLUDING a subwoofer, very impressive. Don't expect home theater-like sound from this but the sound quality and volume level was better than I expected and really clear.

Plus, it has an included reomote which many speakers in this price range don't have. The remote has power/standby, up/down volume, play/pause & reverse/forward track skip. If you hold down either of the track skip buttons it will also search forward or back throughout the current track.

The speaker can also operate on C-size batteries but will only charge iPod/iPhone when AC adapter is used. I would definitely recommend this as it is an exceptional value.

Firstly, bear in mind that you are spending $65 for the product in whose class others go upto $600. Saying that let me tell you what I found out. I happened to test a Bose also in Bose outlet on the same day as I received this RCA machine.

Good--
-Size,Construction,Looks primitive but not bad.
-Music(Music quality is Masters College level,Bass is High School level,remember $65)
-12V DC or 110V/240V or C-Batteries(you can play it in car,europe,canada,anywhere..)
-Usability(I can listen to ANYTHING from net through ipod touch+wi-fi, 5* solution for price)
-Additions(Can connect a headphones line and an AUX input)

Not so good--
-Manual/Instructions- Basically you don't need any but clear details would help.
-Sub Woofer works fine, but could have been a little more bigger
-It is only for Music
-Needs the small white plastic thingy in the base which comes with Ipod, for support else all weight goes on the connector.

I have been wanting a portable ipod player that is compact, attractive, well designed, high quality and easy to use. RCA has delivered and I am well pleased. The 2.1 speaker network produces a well balanced sound that handles a wide variety of music with aplomb. This little unit's bass won't rattle the dishes on the shelf, but it delivers adequate bass with a powered woofer for a well balanced sound. The crossovers are well placed so that the sound is seamless and rich. The ipod sits securely on the plug-in, protected in its niche. The ipod recharges while playing when the unit is plugged in. For portability, the unit runs on 6 C cells when not plugged in. Plenty of power for volume and longevity. The remote provides the essential functions and works flawlessly. Give it a try! Maybe you will like it as much as I do.

For such a small unit and such a low price, the sound was rich and loud enough for what I needed it for. My son wanted something to take the place of a boom box we used to have to play cassettes, but he wanted something of that quality for his ipod, and compact enough to move from room to room, wherever he wanted it. The sound of this unit makes the boom box sound horrible in comparison. It's just fantastic for the price. Of course the Bose is the best, but at almost 6 times the price. If you have the money for the Bose, great, but if not this one is a great alternative. As far as small units go, and especially under $100, this one is (in my opinion) the best. It works great, is easy to use (you really don't even need the instructions), and the remote is a great bonus. I really can't say enough about it for the price!

First speaker was difficult to operate. Remote seemed to work but not always. Not sure if side buttons were working all the time either. Returned unit for a replacement and it works as it should. Sound quality is very good. Happy with replacement.

I was so excited to receive this and to my dismay, it doesnt work with my ipod touch 4th gen 8gb. The ad claims it works with the 8GB ipod touch, but apparently they forgot to specify that it will not work with the 4th generation one. :/
BUT, im going to buy an aux cord and see if that will work. I'd hate to have to go through the trouble of sending it back, and then search for a different system.
