5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent Product, October 30, 2008

Although I replaced an antennae on my roof (so I was up on a ladder) installing this product was simple. I recommend assembling as much as possible on the ground and then take the antennae on the roof, bringing tools afterwards. Older antennaes are difficult to remove if they've been up for a while.

I installed the new antennae because I also installed an HD converter box for an older TV and the HD signals were dropping or pixelating. This antennae solved the problem immediately, bringing in all available broadcast channels. I occasionally have an issue but usually it is minor. The signals are now stronger and I'm sure this new antennae solved the problems.

5.0 out of 5 stars antenna reception, July 9, 2010

This antenna folds out without the need to assemble like most.
The only nuts and bolts were for securing its clamp on to a mast.
Once up I received excellent UHF/VHF reception from a transmitter farm 30 miles away and was able to pick up excellent reception from the back side of the antenna 30 miles away. I am very satisfied with this antenna.

We live within 20 miles of a large city. Most of our VHF channels now come in as clear as cable and the UHF channels are much clearer than before.

This antenna is very easy to set up. All you have to do is unfold the antenna elements and mount it to a mast. The antenna reception is very good. I picked up extra digital channels that my indoor antenna wasn't receiving.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good, inexpensive antenna, June 21, 2010

I used this to replace a VU-120 that was broken in a storm. This one went in its place very easily and gives similar gain in a slightly smaller design. I can't really complain about it except it always has a bit of wiggle room in the mounting brackets. I really wish I could get it to mount as firmly as my old antenna.

Well worth the money.

5.0 out of 5 stars My First Trail of this New RCA product., September 28, 2011

Well everyone, it just works well. We just had our roof re-roofed with the new (Malarky HD-Shingles)Highlander-CS in Natural Wood color. Took off the old rusted Antenna. I looked for hours at Digital Antennas & found a few new smaller ones that should work, but most smaller ones get Channel 7-69, I wanted Channel 2-69! Later I found info. from [...] I quote,"Indoor antennas are generally small, designed to be placed on or near your TV. Outdoor antennas tend to be significantly larger and are intended for roof-or attic-mounting. In general, the larger an antenna's surface area is, the stronger the signal it will provide." Also "Nearly all outdoor antennas perform better than even the best indoor antennas."
I really wanted a small HD Digital antenna to be roof mounted but you know the quotes. Since we live about 28.7miles away from L.A.(TV Signal Source)again we now receive all our Digital channels(2-69) w/clarity on 2 TV's on the 1st floor w/ this new RCA Universal Performer Series Antenna has a 1080HD on the box & good for 35+ miles. I mounted this new shorter one set for 2 TVs with the older larger antenna divided to 4 more TVs & this new one is as good or better. We might take down our older larger TV antenna and replace it too. We then would have 2 antennas just like now only both would be smaller and shorter. Oh yeah it comes with the 75 to 300ohm transformer to hookup and 75ohm round cable.
What's really odd is I purchased this at $39.99 + $8.08 shipping total$48.08
the price now jumped to 51.39 w/o shipping... Anyways I recommend this antenna still less then others out there. Cheers everyone ......Darren

This antenna is a great value. I can pick up channels that are 40+ miles away with the antenna being mounted only at my roof line. I used a 5 foot mast attached to a vent stack with a kit purchased at Radio Shack. Do youself a favor and buy this antenna, get an Amazon Prime account for the free video streaming available and drop your cable.

5.0 out of 5 stars GREAT antenna!, July 13, 2011

I bought two antennas before I bought this one. Neither of them picked up the hard-to-get local VHF channels that I desired. Well, as they say, the third time was the charm. This antenna has been flawless. It installed easily, and I've never had to re-adjust it after the initial set-up. The picture quality on my TV's are just as good as they were when I had cable, and I haven't needed the additional signal booster that I've seen suggested. I'm operating two TV's in two parts of my house, and have had no problem with signal strength on either TV. This fluctuates depending on where you live, but I am at least 30 miles from the TV transmitters, and have had no problems. I'd buy another one of these in a heartbeat, and would HIGHLY recommend this product to everyone.

The only think I wish I had known was that you do need to purchase the rod to install. Other than that this is a great product!

It does exactly what its suppose to do. I had a good signal for 3 tvs even on the one that is ran all the way down the house. Works great with a amplifier, but didn't really NEED it.
