The ends are a little hard to work with...,

I don't have any gripes with the quality of the cables, but attaching the ends to a wall jack or the back of the cable box or TV is more difficult that it probably should be. You'll want to make sure you have a wrench to help make the connections. If you just plan to make a connection one time then I wouldn't let the connectors deter you from buying the cable. However if you will need to connect and disconnect things on a regular basis I would not buy this cable because of how difficult it is to work with the connectors.

I am a retired Electronics Technician with over 28 years working with radio frequency cable. Belden is a very reputable name in the cable manufacturing industry so I bought these. When they arrived I hand twisted the F connector to the back of the TV and the cable fell off with the connector still in place. I tried the other cable and the same thing happened. There is a short ferrule that allows the connector to twist on and it is a serious design flaw. You could treat it like a surgeon performing delicate brain surgery with just two fingers and it still will fall apart. I ended up going out and getting some different cable, F connectors, and building my own cable. Normally pre-manufactured cables are reliable but I guess there is a first time for everthing. Don't buy these cables, I wish someone else had left a review so that I would not have wasted my money and time. I'm surprised Belden would tarnish such a reputable name by not even allowing some piece junk like this to get by them and be sold with their name. Maybe the first run of cables were OK and then they substituted for the cheap stuff without telling Belden. Mike K.

Works well as advertised. Although the specs are not detailed enough. Did some research and all I could find is that this coax cable has a copper center conductor. Hope this helps.

Decent coaxial cable. Better than RG59.,

I'm switching from RG59 to RG6 cables, as the RG6 cables are better insulated against signal interference. I purchased extra cables because of the price. 1st cable didn't work, but others I used were fine. At this price, that is acceptable.

Great price and no quality degradation as far as I can tell. I use one to connect to my LCD TV and another from my cable modem to my network router.

I do not have a cable box, so I plug directly into the coaxial wall outlet and then to the HDTV.The original cable I had did pretty good, but some of the digital channels did not come through with 100% quality (some sound/picture distortion). I bought this cable because I thought it seemed more of a "higher-end" product that could possibly get in the digital channels better. I was wrong. I at least expected it to do the same or better than my original coxial cable, but instead it did much worse. It did not get in ANY digital channel to a point where there would be a signal good enough for the TV to display, and the analog channels were even VERY distorted (lines running through it everywhere). I replaced this "new" cable with the original cable and will be happy having the quality that I did have (only about two channels out of around 100 come in with slight distortion with the original cable). I think this was a case of bad quality control. I screwed the F connectors on the same way that I had for my original cable and while doing so, the F connection to the cable seemed to shift while screwing it in with my fingers (which shouldn't happen). I didn't do anything drastic or forcefull with the installation of the cable. I screwed it on and off the same way that I have done for every coaxial cable I've used, and I have never had an issue by doing so. This "shift" that I felt while tightening may have been the F connection breaking from the cable which may have cause the distortion; however, there was no visual evidence to indicate this (the F connection still appreared fine and the wire still ran through it okay). I think better quality control of this product is needed. There probably are some that work just fine for people, but this one definitely did not work for me.

After trying to screw this cable into my tv, the screw head detached from the cable and I just had a wire sticking out of the wire. This item is garbage save your dollar.

I bought this cable for a two-way splitter in order to separate my digital cable box signal from the basic cable signal coming through my wall. The picture and sound quality are great. The HD channels come in perfect. I will be buying more of these cables in the future.

This cable stopped working properly after a day of use. Unlike my other RG-6 cables, the pin connector does not stick out passed the screw connector, so it is difficult to get a quality connection on my cable box and television.

I read the negative reviews, but bought it anyway because of the price. In fact, I bought two. Now I have sent two back to Amazon. The problem is that the F-connectors are terrible. When you screw them down - just as they begin to tighten up - the screw ring pulls off of the wire itself and the whole thing falls apart. You are unable to tighten the screw onto the threads to make the connection.Just trust me. Don't buy this. It is junk that will not work. I bought two. Both broke when I first tried to attach them. |
