Good Basic Unit
Let's see -- I bought it. It arrived. I plugged it in. Tuned in the channels. Set it on SP mode. Recorded a tape for my kids. Output was very good. Remote works fine. Extremely high speed rewind. Good menu set up. Amber-colored clock LED is a plus (compared to the blinding green kind I had on my old VCR). Recommended.

major disappointment
I had no huge expectations for this vcr, given the pricepoint, but I did expect it to run more than 3 hours. Used it once, fine, put a tape in the next day, and no picture. I'll never buy another cheap vcr again. Designwise, both the case and remote were acceptable, but if it doesn't play, they're not much good.

It was inexpensive. I bought it. I plugged it in. I turned it on. I recorded videos. I played movies. I play videos from my Olympus Camedia digicam by plugging the input jack in the front. My kids like to press the buttons. Its been working without a glitch for the last year or so. My God, whatta VCR!

I agree w/meelisabeth.Couple of mths after I got it, I too couldn't see what I taped, fixed it and 3 mths later I have the same problem again!! So now will cost me to fix again.. Costing me alot for that thing...

This is a very good vcr for the price that it is. If you are on a budget but want to buy some home theatre equipment, this should be on your wishlist.

This worked right out of the box, was easy to set up and did agreat job recording a TV program. For the price it is a great deal and I recommend it. Resolution is OK. Controls were a bit confusing but was able to set everything up w/out the directions - excellent buy for people ona budget.
