Better than I expected,

This review is from: RCA WHP140 900 MHz Wireless Headphones (Electronics)
I bought these mainly for use with a TV and I have no complaints. The sound quality is good, and the range is throughout my house. I can keep listening to a show if I have to take the dog outside. They are comfortable. I can easily wear them for the duration of a movie. I use rechargeable batteries, and they last over a month with about 2 hours of use per day. I also use them occasionally to listen to music and the quality is almost as good as a corded pair of headphones that I have. There are two knobs on the right hand side. One is the volume control and the other for tuning. It takes a few days until you learn which is which. After that, you won't fiddle with the tuning when you want to adjust the volume. I have never had any interference and so never needed to adjust the tuning. These are definitely useful when you want to keep the sound to yourself or roam about while listening to headphones. Also, voices are much easier to understand through headphones than through speakers, especially during a movie. I wouldn't mind using corded headphones except that I don't want to sit close to the TV and I want to be able to walk around occasionally. The base unit shuts off about a minute after you turn off the source. If I mute the TV during a long set of commercials, the base shuts down and all you hear is noise. This is so that you can shut off the headphones without having to get up to shut off the base. I learned to turn down the volume on the unit instead of using the mute during long commercials. You can either plug the base into a headphone jack or, with the adapter, into RCA plugs labeled audio out. I don't notice any difference in terms of sound quality between the two.

i bought these headphones a few days ago, and so far i have no problems with them at all. i use them to listen to music from my computer. later this week, i will be trying them with the tv. there was an irritating buzzing noise when i first started using them, but then i read the suggestion in the manual that said to place the transmitter above head level, so i put it on a shelf. they've worked perfectly since then. they've never automatically cut off on me, but maybe this is because i listen to winamp on repeat and shuffle, so it constantly plays random mp3s from a very large play list. the sound quality seems very good. these headphones are very comfortable to wear, and they stay on very securely. i haven't been able to test them in a very large area, but they work nicely while i move around my dorm. for my purposes, at least, they're perfect. i haven't found anything wrong with them yet, and i can't think of anything that would make them better.

Automatic turnoff is a real turnoff!,

I purchased these headphones a couple of months ago even after reading the negative feedback. I wish I would have listened. The headphones really do automatically cut-off when the music stops or when the audio is at a low level such as a very quite scene in a movie. There is also a constant low level hiss in the background.I know it is tempting to buy these because of the cheap price, but it really is worth it to spend a little more money on a higher quality set of wireless headphones.
