5.0 out of 5 stars A must for every RCIA parish team, August 14, 2001
This review is from: The RCIA: Transforming the Church: A Resource for Pastoral Implementation (Paperback)
This book complements the Rite of Christain Initation Study Guide. Every Catholic Parish who has an RCIA program and uses the White Study Guide would benefit greatly from this book. Very well written and easy to follow, Thomas Morris takes you thru the Rite of Christain Initation Study Guide. This makes the RCIA program better to understand and to implement in your parish. One would be lost without his expert knowledge to guide you.

5.0 out of 5 stars A BOOK WE BOUGHT FOR OUR RCIA TEAM TO READ, February 28, 2002
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: The RCIA: Transforming the Church: A Resource for Pastoral Implementation (Paperback)
I am a Pastor in need of the RCIA, a need which I forsee will become greater in the future. I saw a copy of this book one day, picked it up and it opened to page 48, where I saw the the author's subject of "Models for Implementation" begin. Within 5 pages, I realized that he had already looked at, evaluated and came up with recommendations for issues with which our beginning core group members were dealing in rebuilding the RCIA in our parish and building a team for it. He answered many questions our people had concerning essential personnel, such as "Sponsors" as opposed to "Godparents," and their roles. His advice was consistent with the Church's instructions on the RCIA. His own insights provide much practical advice, room for flexibility and examples that can be adapted to suit various needs. His presentation is such that he is not asking the reader to agree with his findings, or to fit into a mold, but rather to think through the many alternatives and choose what is consistent with their own vision and best with their available resources. Our group decided they all wanted a copy of this to read before we make any final decisions on our method of implementation. So, I'm back here buying it for them! I wrote this in the meantime.
