From Library Journal
This interesting, comprehensive, easy-to-read book on the development and treatment of alcoholism and the difficult path to recovery contains all the ingredients of an excellent resource manual. It begins with a questionnaire for diagnosing the extent of abusive drinking and then introduces various types of interventions and treatments. The remaining half of the book is devoted to the issues involved in keeping the addiction under control after sobriety is attained. Appendices present excellent supplemental material, including common medications containing alcohol and vitamins recommended for the alcoholic. This work may be the best all-around source book on alcoholism to date. Barbara J. Powell, Veterans Administration Medical Ctr., Kansas City, Mo.
