A Kid's Review
This review is from: RED FACTION 2 (Video Game)
This is a COOL game. The best part of this game is the GEO-MOD engine it lets you destroy almost anything...There are 3 levels of difficulty,it has a fun multiplayer mode thats the best part of the game you get to play deathmatch, bagman, and capture the flag to name some plus you get to make your own computer players with there own strengths and weaknesses there is A WHOLE LOT OF WEAPONS like the presicion rifle to the ral gun. This game is good but fairly short if your looking for a fun shooter with a in depth story RED FACTION 2 IS FOR YOU!!!

1. Not all shooter games require thought. A few (this one included) just require you to shoot like there's no tomorrow. Problem? Nope. Not if you enjoy shooting like there's no tomorrow. Funny thing is, in most of these games' storylines, there isn't planned to be another tomorrow, so you have to shoot like there's no tomorrow. If you enjoy spy-type games, check out Splinter Cell. If you like a mix, check out 007. If you hate all-out shooting, don't waste your time writing a review about games in which you shoot like there's no tomorrow.
2. The game is short, but that's what multiplayer is for. Many shooters end up being too short, but you don't really notice because of the multiplayer mode. 3. I've played very view shooters in which you can save in mid-level. Only 007 Nightfire and Everything of Nothing come to mind. What's the problem? And not even just shooters. There are all kinds of games where you can't save in mid-level. Remember those Mario Bros. games? There was NO save mode there, and no one seemed to mind. 4. And about the developers' support websites, many people enjoy REAL gaming, where the player tries to figure things out themselves. Especially in a game like this where there's not much to figure out; it's just survival, basically. 5. Now for a real, however brief, review of the game: Very cool. Blowing up walls is strangely invigorating. I agree with "A gamer"'s review, stating that the Gamecube version is the best. The glorious 'Cube is sadly underrated. Microsoft enjoys buying its customers. Nintendo prefers to EARN them, but the Xbox has claimed to many mindless prisoners already. Oh well. There's hope in the faithful few. Long live Nintendo! Oh, and Red Faction!

One of my favorite Game Cube titles!,

I played the original Red Faction when it came out for PC a few years back and was excited to purchase Red Faction 2 when I got my Game Cube. This game is a high quality shooter with unique and interesting weapons, many of which have alternate modes of fire and special abilities. Classic weapons such as shotguns, rifles, machine guns and pistols are available as well as more heavy duty specialty weapons such as the Wasp, which shoots a spray of explosive jelly blobs, the NCW, with its grenade launcher or the Rail Gun, which can shoot a laser beam through walls at opponents. One of the best things about this game is that the levels are uniquely detailed and players can interact with and destroy the environment, uncovering secret passages or blowing out bridges etc. Many powerups and other items are also available in game. The single player game is quite entertaining, though a bit difficult. The real strength of this game and what my friends and I really love about it, is the Multiplayer function which supports up to 4 players in customizable battles. Deathmatches, Capture the Flag and Team Arenas are some available multiplayer options.

This is a great game! It's really forward and fun to play through the storyline. Two player mode, while fun, is a little to challenging for n00bs to do much...

I bought this for my son because his previous copy was too scratched up to play any more. He loves this game, and he was very happy that I found another copy. He and his brother play it and love it. It is pretty violent, but my sons know that killing is not the right thing to do.

Red Faction is definitely a game to buy for First Person Shooter fans. It has rich color and graphics, great sound, lots of awesome weapons, and a lot of levels. the controls are pretty easy to get use to, and can be changed at any time during the game. the color and graphics are very good for the time and the system. the sound is very well done, it makes you feel like you are more in to the level , or what ever situation you find yourself in. overall i would give it a 5 star rating, i am also a huge FPS (First Person Shooter) fan.

News Flash! The Original Is Better Than The Sequel!I won't bother to go through a diatribe. Simply search for "red faction ii review" in google.com to get as many as you like. Let's just hit the high (or as it may be, LOW) points of this game: 1) No thought required - just shoot. No puzzles, no intrigue, no story to speak of. Just kill, kill, kill. Yawn. 2) Short - very short. I paid money for this? 3) No saving your game. The game only saves at the "transistion" point between levels. If you're in a tough spot and die, you're going to have to go through the entire level again to get to that spot - at which point if you die again, you have go through the entire level again...repeat ad nauseum. Who thought this was a good idea? Having to repeat long stretches of "easy" parts to get back to where you died...but I said no diatribe, didn't I? 4) No real thought required...but I said that already didn't I? It bears repeating. 5) No saving your game - yes, I know I just said that too, but it REALLY IS ANNOYING. I think this just sucks all the joy (what there was, anyway) right out of the game. 6) THQ, the publishers of this disappointing sequel have no support section for this game on their site! Their website simply says "We have not yet posted any Knowledge Base articles for this product." What, they thought no one would have questions? Or maybe they figured there was no point, since no one was going to buy the game after the reviews came out. You can contact their support section through email, though. Presumeably they will answer. 7) Volition, the developers of this game, have no support and no way to contact them that I could find. That's your first clue to the quality of the product, folks. Their website just loops you back into the redfaction2.com site, which has no useful information on it - just a sales pitch. BTW - Volition is a wholly owned subsidiary of THQ, Inc. Hmmm - like father, like son. One gets the impression that this was a rush job to take advantage of the fond memory that we all had of the original Red Faction. In conclusion, pass on this one. Maybe if enough people DON'T buy this, the next game will be better. I'm pretty sure that enough people have already complained about it. I really wish I'd read the reviews before I bought this turkey - it would have saved me some bucks, and a lot of dissapointment.

The Best FPS since Halo!,

Red Faction 2 is the best FPS since Halo because of the willing to blow a hole in a wall and blow other people to pieces! This game has excellent multiplayer and story mode is a little short, but all in all it as close as you can get to Halo!

Red Faction 2 falis to disappoint. The single player is short, but fun. The GEO-MOD rocks, no question. My favorite thing is juat a plain old deathmatch. The guns are sick! The anti-personall rocks, and so does the nano and wasp. The $50 price tag is a bit much for a game that has been out for this long. Also dont let the "M" rating get in the way of FUN! GET THIS GAME

I have no doubts that this shooter is going to be the best for the cube. 007 games have been awful for a long time and timespliters, well there it is, but red faction had so much success on the ps2 that i believe this game will be very fun. the enviroments in this game are totally interactive. just everything you should need from a shooter. cant wait for it and neither should you.
