This is a very nice watch. It was a mixture of birthday and Christmas present, that I was allowed to choose out. I had been eying this one here, but I ended up getting it from Sears since the after Christmas discount put it to the same price.

I would of been happy putting in the money to pay 50 for it though. It's very attractive, which is one of the things you look for in a watch. Obviously it seems to keep time well, though that's really a long term. I looked it up and didn't see many complaints though. It's even prettier in person as well. It's simple, but very nice. My family that doesn't really care for pocket watches even admired it, one woman I showed gasped in the same way you would expect over fine jewelery.

The cover on mine is on very tight, and the spring is pretty strong. Mine came with a very nice chain (I hear some don't, so I imagine it's all about where you buy it.) The mechanism to set it is done in a way that should prevent it from accidentally being messed up.

One care tip though is to press the button while closing the lid. I didn't do that on my old watch and it soon stopped being able to close properly. Ironically the loose cover allowed me to push it up at an angle and close it though. ^^;

Anyways, if you have simple tastes but still like stylish things that work well, then I'm sure you'll appreciate this watch. If black isn't your thing, look around and see some more by the same company with blues, and reds!

okay,so i got mine from another store but i was not impressed, i got it as a gift for cristmas and the whole thing had stopped working on the 30th of december so if you want a watch for show and ur not going to take it out much fine but if ur like me and want ur watch to keep good time this is not for you

I have a small collection of pocket watches. This one is the workhorse of my bunch. I've had it for years. It has a nice heft to it, a substantial loop to attach the chain to, and a cover that still clasps tightly (just a word- when closing the cover, push the release button in. Don't "click" it shut. That wears the latch mechanism). I had to replace the battery once, but that was a straight-forward affair. It's got a modern look, which was different from my other "antique-y" styled watches. It's held up well, and is a very good-looking and fine-working watch. Especially for the price.

After recieving this watch in the mail. I opened the package to find most of the numbers on the face had fallen off. I sent it back and have yet to recieve another one?

Good watch for the money. Replaced an old one of my husband's that did not last very long. He's had this one for some time now and it's still going strong!
