1.0 out of 5 stars read GUARANTEE/RETURN DATE instructions carefully -- it does NOT work for everyone
This item did NOT work for me. I bought it a few years ago, and after I used it very religiously for several weeks, as per the instructions, I found that it DID NOT WORK for me.

However, that is not why I am giving it a bad review -- it, obviously will not work for everyone.

Anyway, the reason for giving it a ONE rating is that after I used...

5.0 out of 5 stars Love this little guy!, November 9, 2009
After being diagnosed as pre-hypertensive and with High Blood Pressure in my family, my doctor warned me to begin making lifestyle modifications to control my rising blood pressure or begin taking medications! Being only in my 30s, I am against taking medications...however, working full time and being a busy mom & wife, I do not have the time to work out. I also do not have the time or energy to eat properly. I read about the Resperate in a newspaper & began my own research. The reviews are great so I decided to buy the Ultra Resperate about 2 months ago. My BP readings had been around 130-140/90-95. Since using the Resperate Ultra, my BP reading on 10/29/09 was 118/75 and 111/76 today! To say I'm THRILLED is an understatement! I use my Resperate Ultra 4 times a week right before I turn out my lights. I find that it relaxes me and I feel that I've also been sleeping better since using it. I LOVE my Resperate Ultra & would recommend it to anyone!

1.0 out of 5 stars read GUARANTEE/RETURN DATE instructions carefully -- it does NOT work for everyone, April 28, 2010
This item did NOT work for me. I bought it a few years ago, and after I used it very religiously for several weeks, as per the instructions, I found that it DID NOT WORK for me.

However, that is not why I am giving it a bad review -- it, obviously will not work for everyone.

Anyway, the reason for giving it a ONE rating is that after I used the item for the several weeks as it said in the instructions, I mailed the item back with all of the paperwork, box, in great condition, etc to RESPERATE. Several days later I got a phone call from a very nice RESPERATE employee saying that they could NOT give me a refund as I missed the deadline by a couple of weeks -- I said that the instructions said it would lower BP within several weeks of use -- unfortunately at that time their instructions and guarantee did not CLEARLY show the note about a 30 DAY TRIAL PERIOD -- I had not read the small print. Anyway, no matter how much I argued with the very nice person on the other end of the phone, they would not refund me, and they sent the resperate back to me-- I then put it up in the attic. I had forgotten about having it being in the attic until I started getting spam emails again from Resperate -- I guess I'll be putting it on ebay.

The point is you will need to make your decision whether it is working or not way BEFORE the 30 DAYS so you can get it in the post and return it.

4.0 out of 5 stars Was very skeptical, but seems to work, July 15, 2010

This review is from: RESPeRATE Ultra Blood Pressure Lowering Device, One User (Health and Beauty)
After a life time of "white coat" hypertension, it appeared, as my doctors predicted it probably would, that my hypertension was starting to occur even under normal conditions. I was someone who checked my bp fairly regularly, and while I was still not in frightening high range, I was growing concerned. I am fairly fanatic about working out at the gym, but apparently that wasn't sufficient. I knew the hypertension drugs might be necessary but I saw the toll (including serious medical toll) they took on my father, so I wasn't anxious to take them unless that was the only recourse. So, I was willing to shell out $300 on a natural alternative, even though I was fairly convinced it would not work. I have to say to my shock it really does work. Now I was someone whose upper bp was up to ranging from 130-140s, and now it is generally in the low- mid 120s. I am 59. My lower is in the 60-75 range. I assume someone might be able to accomplish the slower breathing exercises without such an expensive machine, but I probably wouldn't have. It does figure out your breathing pattern, and develop a musical cue system that works with how you breathe. Also i have to say that at a result, at times when i feel like I'm starting to get too anxious about something, I just start slowing my breathing down to calm myself and my bp. I hesitate to give it 5 stars, since I would like to see how I do over a long term, but so far so good. I don't know if it's the answer for everyone, but I decided to write this review because I think there are people who it can actually help. Even though I was a doubting Thomas, my superficial research before I bought it showed that even the establishment medical authorities endorsed it.

I like this device. I usually am doing three or four things at a time and survive on adrenaline to keep up the pace. That's not very good for me! The Resperate makes me take a few minutes just to relax. Used with other life changes, it has helped to reduce blood pressure. Side benefits are loosening of shoulder/neck tension and better sleep.

5.0 out of 5 stars GOOD PRODUCT;EXCELLENT CUSTOMER SERVICE, April 15, 2010
Having used Resperate successfully for two years now, my unit stopped working on March 10, 2010. On March 13th, I sent the unit in for repairs and was asked to pay a nominal repair or replacement charge (a lot cheaper than buying a new unit).
After not hearing or receiving my repaired unit letting two weeks pass, I decided to contact Intercure and much to my dismay, they had sent a unit out immediately that was delivered on March 16th.
Unfortunately, the unit was either stolen from my porch or delivered to the wrong address, I just don't know.
When I reported to Intercure that I never received my unit, they sent me out a second one for no extra charge and it arrived just yesterday!
I am very happy with their customer service.
I do take a mild blood pressure pill and this, in conjunction with a 15 minute a day regimen with Resperate, has really helped keep my blood pressure down.
Thank your Intercure for your product and your customer support!

5.0 out of 5 stars I love the Resperate device!, April 29, 2010

I have been using Resperate for over two years. My blood pressure was getting high and my doctor started "the talk" about starting on medication. Being a "health nut" and not wanting to start on medication, I wanted to find a way to lower my blood pressure more naturally. Also, I had heard tales of woe from some of my friends and neighbors about the side-effects of their blood pressure medicine and I didn't want to go through all of that.

I did lots of research and found out about Resperate. I have been using it ever since. Actually, I use it every day and when I go on vacation, I take it in my carry-on. I don't ever want to be without it. As far as I am concerned, this is the best thing I have ever done for my health. I plan on using it for the rest of my life. I take my blood pressure reading once a week and it usually averages 118/68. I am a senior citizen, still working, and don't take any medication and I plan on keeping it that way.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great device, August 19, 2010

This review is from: RESPeRATE Ultra Blood Pressure Lowering Device, One User (Health and Beauty)
I have been using this device for just over 30 days now and I am seeing a slight reduction in my blood pressure. I'm relatively sure over time it will be an increasing improvement. It is essentially training me to breath a little deeper and slower. It appears it takes quite a bit of work to change your natural breathing patterns, but this certainly is doing that. Without the assistance of this device, I wouldn't have had the discipline to do what this is guiding me to do with my breathing. I also would not have been capable of breathing at the appropriate rate and depth. It also makes you take out some time periodically to sit down and relax, which is something those with high blood pressure are prone to fail to do. I'd recommend it. This device also helps reduce anxiety levels, though it doesn't make that claim. If you have a problem with anxiety.

5.0 out of 5 stars Worth it for relaxation alone, May 31, 2010
By
x475aws (Maryland, USA) - See all my reviews
The relaxing effect of the 15-minute exercise really does carry over to the rest of the day. In itself that's a health benefit for someone high-strung like me.

My unmedicated BP was high, but not kill-you-right-away high, so I took myself off the diuretics after using Resperate for a few weeks. Measurements with a good Omron monitor are now showing BP in normal range.

3.0 out of 5 stars Works well... cheaply built, January 20, 2010
By
Snowball (United States) - See all my reviews
The breathing exercises with Resperate really seem to help not only blood pressure, but also the quality of one's sleep, so the concept is probably sound. However, this unit costs a small fortune and when it developed a problem with the elastic belt, customer service at Resperate required $30 to fix it -- even though I had done nothing out of the ordinary to it and the cheap (probably Chinese) material was obviously breaking down and smelled odd. Breathing the foul smell wasn't too useful while doing the breathing exercises and it was only 6 months old when the problem developed. It also turns out that replacement belts require the unit's serial number so the pieces can be matched.

You would think that a $415 device would come with better post-sales support, but apparently Resperate is a cheap company as well.
