This review is from: RETRO ALUMINUM ICE CUBE TRAY (SET OF 4)
It is difficult to find a metal ice tray. The only other option was the stainless steel one on amazon that cost as much for 1 tray as it does for four of these trays. So I bought these units. After about a month, one of the units broke at the handle. Another unit is starting to break.
The problem with these units are that they are made of very thin material. Very thin. The two that are still working are bent to no end. I called the company and they said that they send what comes to them. Ahh, but someone at the company inspected these before they wholesaled and whoever did this made a big mistake. Don't buy these units. Save your money and buy something else.

This is a pretty good reproduction of the original that we used to have as a kid at my house. My mother and father first got it when I was still a baby and it brings back so many memories and all. The only reason that I gave it 3 stars instead of 5 is because within a week one already had broken and had to be riveted back together and all of them had bent handles. Using them as a child and being aware of how they worked I knew how to fix them quickly; I feel that they only need a little heavier gauge metal and they would be great reproductions.

Received the set of ice trays in jolly good time.
however, if you freeze water for ice and try to obtain the ice cubes from the trays, the bloody handles break off. poor product, not strong aluminum, but very weak pressed or stamped aluminum. handles are riveted not screwed on. I don't recommend this product to anyone unless you are really mad at them.. |
