I bought one of these units in March 2006 in response to my wife constantly changing room arrangements, and subsequently requiring that the TV work in an area that didn't have easy cable access. I looked at several units from other manufacturers, and actually bought one to try from Best Buy, which was a Leapfrog, I think. Testing that unit convinced me that the concept was sound, and I would have kept that unit except that it operated on 2.4 GHz, which caused interference every time the microwave was in use, or the telephone rang. My computer is hard wired into a network as I don't want to deal with the increased security requirements of wireless, and my phones work fine on 2.4 GHz, so I was looking for a solution, but with 5.8GHz.
I called RF-Link tech support, got all of my questions answered and placed the order through Amazon. Product worked flawlessly for about six months and then crapped out. By crapping out, I mean that when unit was in an enclosed space where there was exessive heat buildup, the unit would stop working after about 10 minutes. I contacted RF-Link tech support, and they promptly sent out a replacement unit, explaining that the motherboard had been completely redesigned, and therefore they sent me new units as well as new power supplies. The replacement units have worked flawlessly. Although I was upset at having to go through the return/RMA process and the delay in using the product until thr replacement was received, everything is fine now. I would recommend this product to anyone who doesn't want the expense of paying to install cable outlets everywhere. And for those who are concerned about 5.8 GHz interference, with phones, 6.0GHz phones are already available, so no future compatability issues there either.

This device worked great for a short span of time (a few weeks), then just stopped working. I returned it to Amazon and received a new replacement. It worked fine for a while, then stopped working. It's a great idea, but very weak quality.

I bought a transmitter and Receiver about 6 months ago to bring Picture in picture to my main TV from a second satellite box. Worked great !!!! Bought the second receiver to bring TV to my Computer in another room. This also worked great and saved me having to do a lot of wiring and add a third Satellite box.

Junk,

This product would be great - if it worked.
I bought this product and it worked great... as advertised... I loved it. Audio, video, IR (remote) worked and were clear. One morning, about 45 days after I bought it, it just stopped working. Assuming the problem was environmental, I had the unit extensively tested by an A/V pro. It was clearly the unit. So I contacted the manufacturer and sent it back. I had high hopes that I just got a lemon, and the next unit would be fine. The second unit failed within two days (different type of failures). Again I had it checked out, and had the setup and placement checked thoroughly - I mean, what are the odds that two units would fail? Once again, defective equipment, and once again I sent it back. Third unit lasted a couple of weeks - then failed. DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT. I have extensive A/V experience and love the idea of this product. Don't buy a product that will fail in a couple of days or months. Find another solution.

I bought it in Feb 2006, never had any problem. Occasionally it stops working and just restarting both the units (sender and receiver) fixes the problem. I am so satisfied I am buying another pair.

I thought I would this receiver would suffer a lot of interference considering I have wireless internet, multiple 58 ghz cordless phones and a mirowave nearby but this product works great considering all the wireless gadgets I have at home.

Gross misrepresentation of the product,

It says that it includes the receiver and the transmitter, while it only contains a receiver. I had to buy the transmitter separatelly and spend over $30 because of it. I have bought about 20 items from Amazon ove the past two years. I have sent them a emailed feedback about the misrepresentation from which I've only had a generic response irrelevant to my the situation.
I have never wrote a single review to them until now, as I was satisfied with past purchases

After trying out an 2.4 GHz A/V setup from another company that totally didn't work even when I disabled all devices in my home operating in that band I decided to try the RF Link even though I had read that it was very picky when it came to aligning the antenna on each unit. I installed the transmitter in the living room and one receiver in the kitchen (pretty clear shot with no obstructions) and another receiver on the second floor. I had perfect video and audio as soon as I turned on the receivers without having to bother to point the antenna on either unit. Also the IR control function works well. So far I've very happy with this equipment.

Forget about this video transmitter if you plan to use it behind a brick wall. It won't work even 15 feet apart.
