Product Description

IMPORTANT: Professional installation is recommended, since this unit doesn't come with a transformer and power cord. It only comes with a electric cable in order to be connected directly to a 24 volts source. - - PHI Technology (Photohydroionization) creates a group of "Friendly Oxidizers" (Super Oxide Ions, Hydro-Peroxides, Hydroxides.) Oxidizers revert back into O2 and H2O. Oxidizers are extremely effective at destroying microbes and gases. All of the oxidizers created exist in outside air already. It doesn't harm people.

Verified Purchase
I installed the unit in a 2200sq ft home with two small dogs, two small children and a wife. Installation was quite easy, I had it installed and up and running in less than an hour. As per the instructions, I left it on 100%of the time.

I ran the unit for a couple of months before finally unplugging, I wasn't happy with the smell it produced nor the results, or lack there of. My family seemed to be sicker than usually and the strong bleach type smell was hard to deal with.

So I'm out the cost of the unit and didn't gain anything from the experience.

Update June 5th, 2013
I thought I'd give the unit another shot and plugged it back in without telling my family. Same results, strong bleach type smell and family caught a cold. I contacted the vendor, and their answer to the strong bleach type smell was to leave the HVAC fan running all the time. Not an acceptable solution to the problem for me. So out it goes and hopefully I can get some of my money back on ebay.

I have had the unit installed for nearly 4 years as part of a complete HVAC replacement. The bulb does now need replacing. The unit does produce a slight smell similar to Ozone near the vents but as an energy saver I do run the fan on low 24x7. Gas and electric bill lower and temp. is more equalized in the house by doing so.

I find the air filter much dirtier with this unit as advertised. Smells in the house are minimized in their duration for example; when we fry food or cook something like fish. Now that the bulb is our I am really noticing the dust in the house as well as the general fragrance of the home vs. a clean smell.

For my opinion it is a good product. don't like the cost of bulb replacement however.

As a professional, I was not sure about this product when first introduced to it by a new client.

As is usually the case, a product must be proven before I will present it to a client....in this case I unplugged his during installation of a new piece of equipment not associated with this product....and inadvertently proved that it functioned as advertised becuase he called with a two day period and said he "felt" the difference.

We returned and plugged it back into it's power source and a day later things were back to normal for him.

We then tried it in our home and our office.

This is by far and away the best single product for indoor air quality that I have found....BUT....couple it with some other products that cannot be found on Amazon (won't advertise here) and you will have an exceptional system.

Those that criticize the costs of maintaining this or any other equipment must weigh the cost of a healthier environment against the cost of maintaining that environment.

To the individual that had a failure...your HVAC company is 100% responsible to you for this product, perhaps another company might be in order.

I bought this product when I had a whole new Lenox HVAC system installed in my home. Worked for about 8 months and then quit. I call the company (RGF) and was told I would need a local HVAC company to do the warranty on this, then I called a local Company and they tried to get the unit exchanged and they have not been able to get anything done for me. RGF told me they sold the technology to Carrier and that they would need to take care of this issue per the contract of the sale on the technology. I have been told by the local HVAC Company that they can’t get anybody to help out in this matter. At this time I thought I would maybe try to buy a bulb to replace the one that has went bad and I was told first that they were unavailable and then a few days later I received an email saying that they located one and the price would be 412.45. I told them all that I would be removing this from the system and that I felt like I received a Lemmon and can’t get help. They say that there is a 2 year warranty on the bulb and a 3 year warranty on the ballast. My unit worked for 8 months and then craped out. No help to offer from the company. I would highly recommend a different product if this is something you are looking for.
