Junk,

I have tried quite a few book lights. This is, without a doubt, the worst. Even with a larger hardback book, the light shines well below the bottom of the page. Nothing "adjustable" about it. You can use your finger to hold the lamp down to hit the page, but it requires constant pressure to keep it from popping back to position.
Crazy bad design defect renders this light almost completely unusable.

Don't bother,

This one is sold at Target for $5. The light itself is bright, if only it could be adjusted to light the pages. There is a design flaw in this device. Can't be properly adjusted. Don't bother.

Yes this is an item bought from a dollar store, well section in Target. It was the first one that I had seen and thought it was a great idea. Maybe a week or two later the button broke, few more days the clip came off, and finally the robotics failed and the light didn't move on it's own. So's it's really cute and maybe good for one time use or hey, even a good fill in for travel! Definitely not long term use.

useless,

As others have stated, the beam does not cover the page. It is too narrow. What's worse, there is nothing to shield your eyes from the exposed LED's glare when it's aimed (as much as possible) at the page. Extremely irritating, eventually painful, especially in low light where a reading light is desirable. Complete junk. Goes with the next garage sale, or out with the trash.

I bought this for a total of $2.00. I needed something for an 1.5 hour ride. Since I already have an amazing book light at home I figured this would be fine to get me through the evening. Oh man was I wrong.
We bought it and it was broken. My Father-in-law through some aluminum foil in the battery compartment so that it would make a connection. (The connector piece must have broken off.) So, YAY that worked. We started off. It was working great. If I clip it to the side it lit up the entire book. About 6 minutes into our ride the light started getting smaller and smaller until the only thing left was enough light to light one word at a time. I had to hold it over the words I wanted to read. It was so frustrating. Not to mention the light will not go on unless you open it to pop out of it's folded up area. The open button was sort of broken and stuck down so we had to pry it open a bit. All it all I probably should have saved my two dollars. I was so disappointed. It was between either this one or two others that were $5 and $6. I was kicking myself by the time the light diminished. Oops, I forgot to mention if you clip it to the top of the book it doesn't even light any of the page. It just lights the base of the light.

As others have said, it does not light the page. I can put it on my lap in front of the book facing the book and , well it is better then trying to read in the dark. The idea is neat and it acts/looks cool, but the light is two small, to short, and just can not bend right to read the page.

This is actually too bright for bedtime reading! But will be great in the car! Will fit nicely in glove compartment.

Worst & Cheapest Book Light Ever!!,

Well I bought 2 of these book lights, 1 for me and 1 for my wife. Hers is working okay other then the nights that it just decided not to come on, and mine didn't work at all. So I contacted the seller so I could have them send me another one, well after I got that one the light would turn on but it wouldn't open all the way. So basically it is worthless, but I decided to just to try to position it on the book so that it would shine on at least one of the pages and it worked for about 4 days and now the light will not come on again. So all I can say is if you are looking to buy this book light take the 25 cents you are going to spend on it and buy a gumball instead and you will get more for your money that way.

I purchased this as a cheap light for reading in Afghanistan. Cheap light that is too bright to read. The focus is on the center of the light stream and doesn't distribute light evenly. It produces a glare, making it hard to read. I gave up and started using it as a flashlight, but that only lasted a couple of weeks. The batteries don't last, no matter what brand I used. Skip this light and pay for something else. I wouldn't take this light again even if someone were to give it to me for free.
