Item was ordered from seller alwayzonsale (with Amazon fulfilling the order) with the expectation that the battery would be new in its retail packaging as described. As it turned out, what I received was a used battery (clearly indicated by scratch marks and chips along the edges of the battery) packaged in a small clear bag taped with scotch tape and labeled with the item number marked NEW. The battery itself was made in China, of inferior quality as oppose to Japan which my original blackberry had supplied. In my opinion, use the extra dollars and purchase the official battery from the blackberry website instead of wasting headaches and your time to return a useless battery that is not new whatsoever. Take heed and Godspeed.

This item's description includes the wording "Retail Packaging", which is misleading. I received this battery in clear plastic packaging...not what I would expect from "Retail Packaging". Charged the battery and 3 hours later I was already down one bar. Would not recommend. Buy your batteries elsewhere!

Well, it looks new, but it performs like a severely used battery. I bought this to replace an 18 month old battery that was no longer holding more than two days of charge. The one I bought here barely holds 12 hours of charge. It's total garbage.

I just received the two spare batteries I bought from "always on sale" (shipped by Amazon) for my Storm 2.

Upon opening the box they arrived it, it was clear these batteries were NOT in their "retail packaging" as advertised above. Both batteries came in identical small, plastic wrapped bags, sealed only by a label on top saying "retail packaging".

Also, I immediately noticed the water damage indicator strip had its infamous RED line running horizontally across its white background. This was notice immediately upon removing the battery from its shipping box BEFORE removing its loose plastic covering or the label the covering was bound with.

Its also importatnt to note the box I received the batteries in was well sealed with clear packing tape and showed no signs of distress from water or any other elements.

It is also important to note that I had purchased TWO batteries, both of which were packaged the same exact way and the water damage indicator strips on both batteries were displaying a red horizontal line.

I understand these strips can be a bit unreliable, but I find it hard to imagine that humidity or some other form of moisture affected both batteries in the same exact way if they were truly in their " retail packaging from the manufacturer".

It might be wise to consider other retailers before making a purchase from "always on sale".

The battery is good, but the phone needs a lot of energy. It lasts just a day or less.

I ordered two batteries for the Blackberry phone. The industry part number is D-X1. I have one that works and the second does not. Being a electrical engineer, I work professionally to design product hardware and software, as well as build test systems for production lines. All that to say that after spending EXTENSIVE time charging both batteries, the first battery starts up the Blackberry phone (functioning properly) and second does not (non-functioning).
With a voltmeter, I have taken measurements of the four exposed terminals that mate up with the Blackberry phone. On the "functional" battery, I see slightly over 4 VDC between the terminal labeled with a minus sign (negative or return (Ground if you like)) and the each of the other three terminals. Since this is a 3.7V battery, I realize that slightly more is normal for an "open circuit voltage". However, for the second "non-functioning" battery, I see 0V between the negative terminal and two of the three measurement points, and the third I see -2.29VDC (negative voltage!). In my professional opinion, this battery is "no good".
The price is cheap so can't complain there... advise all to buy more than one since so cheap and hope at least one works after charging for a couple hours minimum.
Proper operation: Looking at the four terminals of the battery on the side, they are layed out as follows: - + + + (use a voltmeter at a scale setting of at least 5V) measure between minus and any positive terminal for ~4VDC).

The product was new and in the manufacturers packaging. However, it is a tad larger than the original battery which makes putting it in and taking it out more difficult. I usually have to try for a minute or so before it loosens up enough for it to come out. Also, my keyboard seems to stall more with this battery than the original one. By the way, I do still use the original battery, this is my backup

The battery works great. I ordered 3 items via amazon and this one took the longest to be sent from the company. I do not know why but it took several extra days for the sender to get the product processed and then sent out.

Price is right and was delivered within a few days of ordering. Blackberrys tend to go through the battery charge quickly when using a number of apps at the same time for extended periods of time. Carrying a spare battery provides insurance against running out of juice where there is no place to charge it up. This battery has the same performance as the battery that came with the phone. Highly recommended.

I bought these for our Blackberry 8900 users that travel and thus need a spare battery in their bag. They are OEM from the folks at RIMM (Blackberry). No quality issues...they are real and work as they should.
