Rita Lee & Tutti Frutti's last great album, December 25, 2011

Having released three full length albums in such a short time span was both a blessing and a curse for Rita Lee. It was a blessing as it kept her in the public eye, all whilst quickly filling her discography with a number of well received hits in the process. It was a curse in the sense that she was putting fourth so much energy and creativity into one project before quickly abandoning it to pick up on something else. The latter being something that very few artists have been able to successfully pull off. While Rita & co. would later learn this the hard way, "Entradas e Bandeiras" catches them at their creative peak. What makes this album so special is that it combines elements found on the first two albums and takes them all to the very next level, resulting in a glam rock masterpiece and what is easily my favorite of the bands albums. "Entradas..." lives up to everything you'd think and expect a rock album to be. It has the vocals, the sweet guitar licks, the power ballads, fantastic lyrics .. what else could you possibly ask for? Like most things, this was all too good to be true and this album essentially marks the beginning of the end for the band as they would go on to part ways not even three years later.
